Da Lat honors 50 typical families with revolutionary contributions

On the afternoon of April 2, the People's Committee of Da Lat city, Lam Dong province solemnly held a ceremony to honor typical families with revolutionary contributions and met with former city leaders of all periods, former cadres and soldiers who participated in revolutionary activities on the Da Lat-Lam Dong battlefield.

This is a meaningful activity to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Da Lat - Lam Dong (April 3, 1975 - April 3, 2025), towards the 50th anniversary of the complete liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

At the ceremony, the delegates reviewed the glorious history of Da Lat city. During the resistance war against the US, to save the country, together with the whole country, Da Lat - Tuyen Duc fought steadfastly, making an important contribution to the cause of liberating the South and unifying the country.

Despite being tightly controlled by the enemy, the revolutionary movement in Da Lat continued to develop. Since the establishment of the Da Lat Party Committee (1955) and the Da Lat City Party Committee (1961), the army and people here have continuously won victories, especially in the General Offensive and Uprising in the Spring of Mau Than 1968.

Entering the 70s, under the leadership of the Zone 6 Party Committee and Tuyen Duc Provincial Party Committee, the army and people of Da Lat persevered in their struggle, contributing to forcing the US to sign the Paris Agreement. The peak of the resistance war was the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign. On April 3, 1975, Da Lat was completely liberated, contributing significantly to the overall victory of the nation.

The victory of April 3, 1975 is a testament to the patriotism and indomitable will of the army and people of Da Lat - Tuyen Duc. To achieve this victory, many outstanding people sacrificed their youth and blood for the Fatherland. The State has recognized these great contributions with a series of noble titles for outstanding collectives and individuals.
