On February 4, the leader of the Department of Education and Training of Kien Giang province said that students in the whole province will start school on February 10, one week later than many other localities.

However, the provincial education sector still ensures that students have a 2-week Tet holiday according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.

Before Tet, the Standing Committee of Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee announced the conclusion on the Tet holiday schedule for preschool education, general education and continuing education.

The Tet holiday for preschool education, general education and continuing education is two weeks, starting from Monday, January 27 (ie from the 28th of Tet) to Sunday, February 9 (ie January 12, At Ty year).

"According to the plan, students will have 2 weeks off for Tet as prescribed. If we take an early break from January 18, it will be a bit strange because parents will have to go to work and no one will be able to look after their children.

Therefore, the province allows students to have Tet holiday at the same time as officials and employees so that parents can take care of their children more scientifically and reasonably. Because the holiday is late, school also starts late," the leader of the Department of Education and Training of Kien Giang province further explained.

Ms. T., a teacher at a middle school in Rach Gia City, said that in previous years, the province gave students a break from the 23rd of Tet, but this year it will be until the 28th of Tet. The break is late so that students can return to school late, which is appropriate.

In addition, the children's mentality is "as long as there is a new month, there is still Tet", so let them relax.

"For officials and civil servants who have to go to work from the 6th, it is inconvenient for them to take care of their children. However, giving them a long break so they can relax more after Tet is also okay," said Ms. T.

Some places also have students off until the end of this week.

Not only Kien Giang, but also some other localities such as Kon Tum and Quang Ninh have not returned to school. These localities have allowed students to stay home until February 7 or 8, meaning they will return to school on February 8 or 9. However, because these two days fall on Saturday and Sunday, students will return to school on Monday, February 10 (January 13).
