Responding to the Campaign “All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas”, the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels in the capital has promoted inspection activities, coordinated and effectively implemented the emulation movement “Bright – green – clean – beautiful”. These tasks have changed the face of residential areas, contributing to the construction of civilized and modern streets.
Proposing solutions to protect the local environment, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hang Bai Ward (Hoan Kiem District) Ngo Nguyen Nguyen Hoang said that in order to build a civilized, green, clean neighborhood, creating a beautiful urban landscape, Hang Bai Ward launched the emulation movement "bright - green - clean - beautiful" with the goal of raising the sense of responsibility of each citizen in protecting the environment, building a civilized and modern lifestyle.
Specifically, to implement the "bright" criterion, the ward ensures public lighting systems on roads, residential groups, and public areas; promotes people to use electricity economically and safely, encourages the use of green energy; mobilizes the installation of additional lighting in areas lacking light. To have a "green" environment, more trees and ornamental flowers will be planted in each residential group, agency, school, and public area; mobilizes people to care for and protect trees, not to cut down or break tree branches; organizes activities such as "Recycling Saturday", "Tree Planting Festival" ... to improve the living environment. Regarding the "clean" criterion, keep streets and alleys clean, do not litter; dump garbage in designated places; strengthen waste collection, environmental pollution treatment, limit the use of plastic bags and plastic waste; mobilize households to classify waste at source, and use environmentally friendly products.
In Bac Tu Liem district, recently, the People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the district has agreed on a joint plan to organize environmental protection activities. From there, raising awareness, role and responsibility of the people. Therefore, in the past time, every Saturday, the wards have simultaneously mobilized cadres, members, union members and people to actively carry out general environmental sanitation. Ms. Van Thuy Hoa - Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Bac Tu Liem district said that the weekly general environmental sanitation movement on Saturday morning has received the consensus and positive response of the people. Through the implementation, it shows that "Green Saturday" is not only an activity to carry out general environmental sanitation but more importantly, it has contributed to changing people's awareness and actions in preserving green, green space and clean environment.

Since then, it has contributed to 100% of communes and districts in the city being recognized as meeting new rural standards. Hanoi has also completed the task of building new rural areas one year early. Thanks to the good implementation of the Campaign, Hanoi's space is increasingly greener, cleaner, and more beautiful, and the people themselves will be the beneficiaries of this achievement.
