Gold price remains unchanged; Crude oil slides

Gold around 78 million VND/tael

Domestic gold is currently listed at around 78 million VND/tael, world gold is expected to continue to decrease sharply in the new trading week.

Survey at 5:00 a.m. on February 5, 2024, gold prices on the trading floors of some companies are as follows:

Domestic gold price today is around 78 million VND/tael.

DOJI listed the price of 9999 gold at 75.95 million VND/tael for buying and 78.25 million VND/tael for selling.

At Mi Hong Gold and Gemstone Company, the price of Mi Hong gold at the time of survey listed the price of SJC gold at 76.00 - 77.00 million VND/tael (buy - sell).

Bao Tin Minh Chau Company Limited is also traded at 76.00 - 78.05 million VND/tael (buy - sell). Meanwhile, Bao Tin Manh Hai is trading at 76.00 - 78.30 million VND/tael (buy - sell).

The world gold price recorded at 5:00 a.m. today, Vietnam time, was 2,039.750 USD/ounce. Converted according to the current exchange rate at Vietcombank, the world gold price is about 59.136 million VND/tael.

Twelve analysts participated in the Kitco News Gold Survey this week, and Wall Street sentiment appears to have turned decidedly bearish on the precious metal’s near-term outlook. Only two analysts, or 17%, see gold prices higher next week, while eight analysts, or 66%, see prices falling. Another two analysts, or 17%, see gold prices trading sideways next week.

World oil plummets

On the world market, gasoline prices today, February 5, are forecast to continue to slide following the sharp decline of last week.

World crude oil prices plummeted.

Oil prices fell more than 2% on Tuesday, as weak economic activity in China and a surprise rise in US crude inventories sent oil prices tumbling.

Oil prices continued their slide on Wednesday, falling more than 2% after unsubstantiated reports of a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas and a major US refinery was forced to shut down due to a power outage.

Oil prices fell nearly 2% on Friday, as rising US jobs data, slowing growth in China and the possibility of easing tensions in the Middle East sent oil prices tumbling.

Overall, world oil prices fell nearly 7% last week, ending the two-week increase.

Brent oil price closed last week at 77.33 USD/barrel while WTI oil price ended the week at 72.28 USD/barrel.

Domestic coffee prices stable at high levels

Domestic coffee prices were updated at 4:24 a.m. on February 5, tending to be stable and at a high level, in the Central Highlands provinces it was 78,400 VND/kg, the highest price in Dak Nong province was 79,000 VND/kg.

Specifically, the coffee purchase price in Gia Lai and Kon Tum provinces is at 78,400 VND/kg; In Dak Nong province, coffee is purchased at the highest price of 79,000 VND/kg.

The price of green coffee beans (coffee beans, fresh coffee beans) in Lam Dong province in districts such as Bao Loc, Di Linh, Lam Ha, coffee is purchased at 77,700 VND/kg.

Coffee price today (February 5) in Dak Lak province in Cu M'gar district, coffee is purchased at 78,500 VND/kg, and in Ea H'leo district, Buon Ho town, it is purchased at the same price of 78,600 VND/kg.
