On November 27, in Ho Chi Minh City, Quang Trung Software Park (QTSC), Ho Chi Minh City Digital Transformation Support and Consulting Center (DXCenter), Vietnam Digital Technology Alliance (VNITO), MobiFone Region 8, and bacsigiadinh.com Information Channel jointly organized for the first time the Conference and Exhibition on Application of Technology to Support Healthcare for the Elderly (Vietnam Golden Age Care 2024).

At the conference, delegates said that this is an important event in the context of Vietnam and the world facing a rapid aging population. The increasing number of elderly people in Vietnam is posing many challenges for health care and improving the quality of life.

According to statistics, it is forecasted that by 2030, the population over 60 years old will account for about 17%, and this number will increase to 25% by 2050.

At the same time, it is expected that the conference and exhibition will become an annual activity at Quang Trung Software Park to create many opportunities to recognize the role of the community and organizations in raising awareness of elderly health care.

Thereby, the event "contributes to the development of sustainable healthcare models, especially in the context of technology changing the way we live and work", Mr. Phan Phuong Tung emphasized.

At the conference, medical and technology experts will share about global trends in the field of elderly healthcare and challenges in Vietnam.

Mr. Tran Thanh Giang, Deputy Director of Business Center, MobiFone Company Region 8, said that the event helps connect investors, nursing homes and partners with modern healthcare solutions for the elderly, helping to promote the development of this field.

Meanwhile, Ms. Ho Thi Hoang Yen, Director of digital health products, TMA Innovation Company, said that currently, the number of nursing homes in Vietnam is too small compared to the population size, so when the population ages, the need for nursing homes will increase rapidly and promote investment in this field.

However, Vietnam does not have many technological solutions for nursing homes. To meet this wave, TMA Innovation has boldly invested in building comprehensive solutions for new generation nursing homes suitable for the characteristics of Vietnam.

At the same time, support inpatient, semi-residential and outpatient models, increase the connection between family and community, contribute to the development of nursing home networks and reduce pressure on families and medical and social organizations.

At the event, the Organizing Committee dedicated the exhibition area to introduce domestic and foreign solutions in the fields of nursing homes, home health care, chronic disease care, remote health monitoring, etc.
