Ukraine continuously counterattacks, Russian firepower shows superiority

According to SF, Russian military units entered the Sumy region and took control of the village of Rijevka. This is a village located near the border with Russia's Kursk region. Rijevka became the first settlement that Russia has established permanent control over in the Sumy region since April 2022.

At the same time, fierce fighting was also taking place in the Volchansk area of the Kharkiv region. Kyiv forces made a series of attempts to attack Russian positions established there but were repelled by Russian fire, forcing them to retreat. Meanwhile, the Russian army made tactical gains in advancing on the machine factory in the area.

Attacks by Kyiv forces around the settlement of Glubokoe were also repelled by Russian troops. Local clashes are also taking place near the village of Zelenoe, where Russian forces are said to have captured several nearby heights.

Fighting continues in the Avdeevka countryside, near the city of Donetsk. In recent days, Russian units have advanced north and west of Umanskoe. Fighting is also continuing in Krasnogorovka.

The situation around Bakhmut remains tense. Russian forces have been conducting operations along the Seversky Donetsk-Donbass Canal east of Chasov Yar.

Another flashpoint is the Soledar countryside, where Russian troops are advancing towards the village of Razdolovka, which remains under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

All these Russian tactical achievements were achieved despite fierce resistance from Ukrainian forces. The Ukrainian Armed Forces regularly launched counterattacks in several directions. In addition to Volchansk, units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces attempted to conduct a counterattack in the countryside around Bakhmut and Avdeevka.

These offensive actions on the battlefield are being carried out in parallel with strikes on civilian targets inside Russia. In recent days, Russian air defense forces have repelled Ukrainian missile and drone attacks on Bryansk and Belgorod.

Earlier, on the evening of June 8, the Armed Forces of Ukraine attempted to carry out an attack on a civilian tugboat and barge moving in the Taganrog Bay in the Sea of Azov using drones. As a result of the attack, the barge suffered minor damage while the tugboat had its windows broken.

In recent times, Ukraine has not only regularly carried out attacks on Russian cities and settlements, but also included attempts to disrupt civilian maritime traffic.
