Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee provides maximum support for the success of the National Press Conference.

Attending the meeting were Mr. Duong Anh Duc - Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and representatives of the city's departments and branches. On behalf of the working delegation, Mr. Tran Trong Dung - Vice Chairman of Vietnam Journalists Association reported to the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City on some key activities of the National Press Festival.

Accordingly, the 2024 National Press Festival will have 105 press booths of central press agencies and 63 provinces and cities nationwide, 70 booths promoting OCOP products, an exhibition area aiming to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day,... Along with that is a press forum with the participation of 600 delegates who are editors-in-chief of newspapers and magazines nationwide along with a number of foreign guest speakers.

Comrade Tran Trong Dung - Vice President of Vietnam Journalists Association spoke about the purpose, significance and scale of the National Press Festival.

Delegates attending the forum include representatives of central and city leaders, leaders of press agencies, central and local press agencies nationwide. The forum will also have many discussion sessions on digital transformation of journalism, journalism economics, AI technology in journalism activities, etc.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Phan Toan Thang - Chief of Office of Vietnam Journalists Association proposed that the City consider supporting some contents such as: Security, order, health, environment, electricity and water in the area where the Press Conference is held, and at the same time allow the construction unit of the exhibition booths to receive the premises 5 days before the opening; Support propaganda and promotion of the Press Conference and wish to have representatives of the City's leaders meet to introduce and promote the development potential and investment opportunities in Ho Chi Minh City.

Comrade Phan Toan Thang - Chief of Office of Vietnam Journalists Association presented the plan of the National Journalism Association 2024.

Sharing about the coordination and support for the 2024 National Press Festival, Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hoi - Deputy Director of the Department of Information and Communications of Ho Chi Minh City said that the Department has been assigned by the City People's Committee to be the focal point to coordinate programs in the Press Festival activities. Currently, the Department is coordinating with units to implement the plan of the Vietnam Journalists Association and the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee. In addition, the City's departments and branches have contributed many ideas to activities related to traffic, construction, security and order, environmental sanitation and OCOP programs and types of goods on display.

A representative of Saigon Tourist also said that this is an important event, so the unit focuses on supporting the organization of forums, conferences, and accommodations for delegates. The company is also planning to coordinate with the Vietnam Journalists Association and related units to fulfill the requirements of the Press Association.

Concluding the meeting, Mr. Duong Anh Duc - Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee stated that the 2024 National Press Festival is a major event, so the units need to be active in coordination, some issues need to comply with legal regulations, and strictly control goods to avoid unfortunate mistakes. Regarding the design, it is necessary to consult with regular organizing units to have appropriate calculations to ensure traffic issues, while at the same time implementing the city's regulations on environmental sanitation, noise reduction, etc. Thereby ensuring that the event is organized professionally, leaving beautiful images when delegates and visitors return to Ho Chi Minh City.

Comrade Duong Anh Duc - Member of City Party Committee - Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee delivered a concluding speech at the meeting.

"With the scale of the Press Festival, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee will support and create the best conditions to accompany the Vietnam Journalists Association and press agencies nationwide to have a successful Press Festival," said the Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.
