Provincial People's Committee works on developing wind power projects in Dien Bien

Dien Bien TV - On the morning of March 3, a delegation of Vestas Development A/S Company led by Mr. Frank Sine - Senior Vice President, Asia - Pacific region, had a working session with Dien Bien province on the development of the Company's wind power projects in Dien Bien. Comrade Le Thanh Do, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and representatives of leaders of a number of relevant departments, branches and localities received and worked with the delegation.

The Provincial People's Committee worked with Vestas Development A/S Company on the implementation of wind power projects in the province.

Currently, the Provincial People's Committee has approved the survey, research and proposal to supplement the planning in the province for 2 wind power projects, including: Muong Ang Wind Power Plant Project located in the communes of Ang Cang, Ang Nua, Nam Lich (Muong Ang district); Muong Phang commune (Dien Bien Phu city); Pu Nhi (Dien Bien Dong district) and Dien Bien Dong Wind Power Plant Project located in the communes of Muong Lan, Xuan Lao (Muong Ang district); Xa Dung, Phi Nhu (Dien Bien Dong district). Up to now, Vestas Development A/S Company has completed the installation of wind measuring columns and conducted wind measurements from November 2022. Currently, both of these projects have not been approved in the planning and the Implementation Plan of Power Plan VIII.

During the meeting, Vestas Development A/S Company affirmed to continue to implement and ensure the progress of project survey, especially the progress of installing wind measuring columns to serve the research and survey of Na Tong - Tia Dinh project cluster. Regarding the 3-party meeting, the company will notify the Provincial People's Committee after reaching an agreement between the parties.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Thanh Do highly appreciated the preparation and progress of the Company's wind power projects in Dien Bien. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee hopes that in the coming time, the two sides will continue to cooperate and promote the development of wind power and solar power projects in Dien Bien. Dien Bien province will continue to propose to the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Government to add wind power projects to the Project to adjust the Power Plan VIII; increase the allocated wind power capacity for Dien Bien province, including: Muong Ang Wind Power Plant; Dien Bien Dong Wind Power Plant...
