Forest cover rate of Ninh Hoa town reaches over 44.7%

In 2024, forest management, protection and PCCCR work has been paid attention to by local forest owners, proactively implemented and achieved positive results. The town has a total natural area of ​​over 119,000 hectares; of which, over 54,700 hectares are forested. The forest coverage rate is over 44.7%, exceeding the set target. Agencies and units have assigned and protected nearly 690 hectares of forest to 29 households participating in the contract.

During the year, the forces regularly increased patrols and controls, thereby discovering and destroying 33 coal mines, more than 7,033 kg of finished charcoal, seizing 115 wild animal traps and many other deforestation tools. The forces also discovered and recorded 18 violations, confiscating more than 6m3 of round ^timber and more than 9.8m3 ^of sawn timber of various types, 12 modified motorbikes; and prosecuted 2 cases of forest destruction.

In 2025, the town will direct forces and localities to continue to synchronously deploy and improve solutions to protect and develop forests; maintain the operation of the Interdisciplinary Anti-Deforestation Inspection Team; strengthen patrolling and forest protection control; promptly prevent and strictly handle violations of the Forestry Law; develop specific plans and scenarios to be proactive and effective in forest fire prevention and control...

On this occasion, the People's Committee of Ninh Hoa town awarded certificates of merit to 2 collectives and 6 individuals with outstanding achievements in forest management, protection and PCCCR in 2024.
