Foreign exchange rates today April 14: USD and CNY both increase

As of April 14, many banks adjusted the exchange rate between the Vietnamese Dong (VND) and the US Dollar (USD) upward, while the central rate announced by the State Bank recorded a significant decrease.

In the context of the US decision to temporarily suspend the tax plan, the exchange rate on April 10 had strong fluctuations.

Previously on April 8, the USD price exceeded the threshold of 26,000 VND/USD, creating pressure on the foreign exchange market.

Uncertain factors continue to put pressure on exchange rates in recent times.

At the trading session on April 4, the State Bank suddenly raised the central exchange rate, demonstrating a clear policy adjustment.

According to published data, the central exchange rate today posted by the State Bank has decreased by 37 VND compared to the morning session on April 11, down to 24,886 VND/USD. With a band of ±5%, the applied ceiling exchange rate is 26,130 VND/USD and the floor rate is 23,642 VND/USD.

Meanwhile, at the State Bank of Vietnam, the reference exchange rate remained stable at 23,727 VND/USD for buying and 26,119 VND/USD for selling.

According to the update at 8:30 this morning, Vietcombank and BIDV simultaneously raised the USD exchange rate to 25,560 - 25,920 VND/USD (buy - sell). Compared to the trading session on the morning of April 11, the increase at these two banks was 40 VND in both directions.

Regarding the Chinese Yuan (CNY), Vietcombank this morning adjusted the rate up 16 VND compared to the morning session on April 11, to 3,475 - 3,586 VND/CNY (buy - sell).

BIDV also recorded a similar increase with the CNY, when the buying price increased by 16 VND and the selling price increased by 17 VND, up to 3,492 - 3,588 VND/CNY (buying - selling), respectively.
