Tuyen Quang - Green living in the middle of the forest, imbued with national soul

Việt NamViệt Nam16/04/2025

In Thuong Lam – a green valley in Lam Binh district (Tuyen Quang) – no one needs to teach people how to “live green”. Because for them, living in harmony with nature is not a choice, but a way of life. In the latest broadcast of the program “Green Connection Journey”, television viewers are guided to that land – where every roof, meal, or living habit is wrapped in the spirit of conservation and preservation.

Together with the Green Connection Journey, green living in the middle of Thuong Lam mountains and forests: When nature is not just a backdrop, but a companion

MC Le Anh and actress Kim Oanh, along with the Green Connection Journey, visited Thuong Lam, a cool green valley where the Tay people live amidst palm forests, clear streams and traditional stilt houses. Here, everything – from architecture, daily activities to tourism – is connected to nature, creating a green living model with a strong identity.

One of the special stops is the stilt house of Mr. Trieu Van Doi - a rustic but fully equipped homestay, still maintaining the traditional spirit from the palm-leaf roof, wooden tables and chairs to the pillars depicting ethnic culture. The space to welcome guests not only brings relaxation but also a vivid cultural experience.

Mr. Trieu Van Doi shares changes in the lifestyle of the Tay people in the Green Connection Journey program.

From cloth to rice tray: Tay culture is closely linked to the environment

Not only architecture, the green living journey of the Tay people is also shown through each meal and each daily item. Local artisans guided Kim Oanh to spin thread and weave brocade from cotton harvested from nature - an environmentally friendly manual process with sustainable value.

The traditional meal of the Tay people is a true picture of green life: wild bamboo shoots, fern, Gynostemma pentaphyllum, fig leaves... all are seasonal products, picked from the forest, prepared simply but nutritiously. The Tay people eat seasonally, eat to maintain health and to protect nature.

Community tourism and green identity – sustainable development values

The Tay people do not consider environmental protection a responsibility, but rather a natural way of life. They do not raise livestock under the floor, do not abuse waste, use stream water reasonably, and preserve the forest as if it were a treasure.

When night falls, tourists can participate in the local cultural exchange with the sound of the Tinh lute, the Then tune, and the Coi singing - cultural quintessence that is both rich in identity and healing to the soul. This is a valuable cultural resource, helping community tourism in Tuyen Quang develop sustainably, humanely and differently.

Green Connection Journey – Slow Down to Listen to Nature

The trip to Tuyen Quang made urban people like Le Anh and Kim Oanh emotional. Living green does not have to be a big deal – it is just living in harmony with nature, moderating consumption, loving manual labor and preserving traditional cultural values. The Tay people in Thuong Lam have been living naturally green for generations – and they are gently passing that message on to the next generation.

Don't miss Green Connection Journey on VTV3

The Green Connection Journey program airs at 3:45 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday on VTV3, with the support of PV GAS - where each episode is a journey connecting nature, people and kindness. Watch to feel: green living is not far away - but starts from the kitchen, the house and the heart that loves nature of each of us.

“Green Connection Journey” does not tell the story of green living as a campaign. The program lets nature tell the story, lets honest people lead the way – and lets each audience member find their own peace amidst the hustle and bustle of life.
