On the afternoon of October 22, coach Mai Duc Chung attended a press conference before the international friendly tournament. He highly appreciated the organization of the host country and thanked the Chinese Football Association. Commenting on the tournament, Mr. Mai Duc Chung said: "The tournament takes place during the process of the Vietnamese women's team rejuvenating its force. Therefore, this will be a good opportunity for the players to learn from their opponents and accumulate experience for the future." The only last-minute change for the Vietnamese women's team was the injury of striker Nguyen Thi Tuyet Ngan. The coaching staff urgently added striker Vu Thi Hoa before leaving on October 21.
The more young players participate in friendly tournaments, the more vitality the team's future force will have. Coach Mai Duc Chung spent 10 days training his troops in Hanoi to find a new successor force. Before leaving for China, Mr. Mai Duc Chung said: "Rejuvenating the force is the journey of all teams. If we do not have a good successor, the results will clearly not be good. Therefore, we have done this for a long time, not just now". Meanwhile, head coach of the Uzbekistan women's team, Mr. Vladimir Panov expressed his appreciation for the tournament when he could compete with quality opponents in the continent. This is an important opportunity to compete with all 3 teams including host China, Uzbekistan and Vietnam. According to Mr. Mai Duc Chung, China is the team above Vietnam, while Uzbekistan is on par with Vietnam. In the afternoon of the same day, the Vietnam women's team will have an official training session at the Yongchuan Sports Center.
