On the evening of April 1, at a press conference before the match in Indonesia, head coach of the Hanoi Police Club Alexandre Polking shared: "I am very happy to be with the whole team in the semi-finals. The first leg in Indonesia will be difficult, but we have prepared carefully.
The team also traveled to Makassar early to acclimatize to the weather conditions. Hopefully we will have a good result in tomorrow's match.
PSM Makassar is a very strong opponent. They have won the national championship many times. Now the team has changed, with set pieces being the strong point. But we are confident and ready with the strategies that the coaching staff have prepared.
Hopefully both teams will give the audience an exciting match, not only for Makassar fans in particular, but also for Southeast Asian football fans in general."
Also at the press conference, captain Nguyen Quang Hai said that the whole team had prepared well and had studied the opponent thoroughly to aim for the best performance in tomorrow's match.
