Talent Selection Method of Hanoi University of Science and Technology in 2025

Hanoi University of Science and Technology has just announced the regulations on Talent Selection (XTTN) for regular university admissions, applicable from 2025. This regulation applies to candidates applying for admission to regular university training programs of Hanoi University of Science and Technology according to the Talent Selection method. Accordingly, there are 3 admission areas including:

Direct admission of candidates with high achievements in national or international exams and competitions according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training (XTTN category 1.1);

Admission based on international certificates including SAT, ACT, A-Level, AP and IB certificates (XTTN category 1.2);

Admission based on capacity profile combined with interview (XTTN category 1.3).

For direct admission , candidates are high school graduates who have achieved high prizes in national high school excellent student selection exams, Olympic team selection exams, national (ViSEF) or international (ISEF) science and technology competitions.

Candidates can register for a maximum of 3 wishes corresponding to 3 training programs in order of priority from 1 to 3. Candidates who win third prize or higher in the National Excellent Student Competition can register for direct admission to programs suitable for the subject they won the prize in or candidates who win third prize or higher in the ViSEF competition can register for direct admission to training programs suitable for the field of the competition topic according to regulations.

For admission based on international certificates , candidates must have graduated from high school and have an average score of 8.0 or higher in each year of grades 10, 11, and 12. Candidates must have at least one of the following international certificates that is valid at the time of registration: SAT, ACT, ALevel, AP, and IB. For A-Level and AP certificates, only certificates with scores in Math and 2 of the following subjects will be considered: Physics/Chemistry/Biology/IT/Science/English.

Candidates with VSTEP English certificate or IELTS international English certificate or equivalent will have bonus points added to the total certificate score.

Admission based on competency profile combined with interview for candidates who have graduated from high school with the following conditions: Average score of each year of grade 10, 11, 12; Won prizes in competitions to select excellent students, science and technology competitions; Candidates participating in the Road to Olympia competition; Candidates are specialized students (including specialized Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Information Technology, Foreign Language) of high schools and specialized high schools nationwide...
