Reviewing the tradition of the past 15 years, Mr. Le Minh Tho - Principal said that in the first school year, the school had 9 classes with 423 students. Up to now, the school has grown strongly with a scale of 32 classes, 1,250 students; from 23 staff and teachers to nearly 80 people.
The recruitment area is large, from Tam Tien commune (Nui Thanh district) to Binh Nam commune (Thang Binh district); Tam Ky alone has 4 communes and wards in the recruitment area: Tam Phu, An Phu, Tam Thanh and Tam Thang.
Since its establishment, the school has enrolled 15 courses with nearly 15,000 students; of which nearly 4,000 have graduated, continued to study at university and worked across the country.
From a school with a weak entrance quality compared to the general level of the whole province, Duy Tan High School has now affirmed its position with proud achievements. Every year, the high school graduation rate is higher than the previous year at over 99%; in the past 5 years, on average, nearly 60% of grade 12 students have been admitted to their first choice of universities and colleges nationwide.
The school also focuses on investing in the quality of key education, both to promote gifted students and to build a quality brand for the school. Over the past 15 years, the school has won more than 250 prizes and medals at provincial and national competitions; especially 7 first prizes for excellent students at the provincial level. In the two school years 2023 - 2024 and 2024 - 2025 alone, the school won 43 provincial excellent student prizes, including first prize in Chemistry.
Congratulating the results achieved by teachers and students over the past 15 years, Director of the Department of Education and Training Thai Viet Tuong said that competing with other schools in the same area of Tam Ky is a huge pressure for Duy Tan High School. However, the entire pedagogical council, teachers and students have strived to overcome difficulties, creating a brand with proud achievements.
According to Mr. Tuong, in order to meet the expectations of the whole society, in the coming time, the school needs to pay attention to doing a good job in teaching and learning, continuing to build a team of teachers who are good at their expertise, pedagogical skills and have love for their students. Build a friendly and open learning environment, where students are respected, encouraged to express themselves and develop comprehensively.
