Before the festival of new soldiers of Regiment 148

Present at the training ground of Luong Vuong Commune Airport, Tuyen Quang City, Tuyen Quang Province, where the 2023 Military Region-level New Soldiers Sports Festival will be held, we saw soldiers urgently cleaning the stands, organizing the planting of banana flags, cheering banners... as well as carefully arranging each location for each sports area.

New soldier Nguyen Thanh Chuc (Squad 8, Platoon 5, Company 6, Battalion 5) said: “In the past few days, having been thoroughly informed about the quality requirements of the practice areas, we have been actively preparing the training ground to serve the sports festival. I am very happy to contribute my small efforts to contribute to the success of the sports festival.”

Talking to us, Major Ngo Tien Trung, Commander of Regiment 148 said: "After receiving the directive from the Military Region Commander on hosting the 2023 New Soldiers' Sports Festival (opening on May 20), the Regiment has developed a plan and carefully prepared in all aspects. With more than 10,000 working days, officers and soldiers of the Regiment have consolidated and renewed tunnels and trenches, built hundreds of fire targets, gun emplacements, bunkers... Up to this point, the Regiment has completed the work of ensuring that the units compete comprehensively and thoughtfully. Through inspection, the Division Commander and the Military Region highly appreciated the sense of responsibility of the officers and soldiers of the hosting unit".

At this time, along with the preparation for the sports festival, the new soldiers of Regiment 148 are also working hard to train for the upcoming sports festival. About 300m from the stands, soldiers of Platoon 6, Company 10, Battalion 6 are practicing infantry combat techniques. The command of the platoon leader is issued, the soldiers urgently practice wrapping explosives, connecting explosive devices with explosives, practicing carrying explosives quickly to approach the target. In the Battalion 5 area, soldiers of Platoon 5, Company 6 are diligently training the content of the Formation Regulations. Under the command of Lieutenant Trieu Dinh Thao, Platoon Leader of Platoon 5, the soldiers practice gun inspection, perform the movement of walking in a straight line, then walking at attention, and stopping to salute. Even though there are superiors checking, the young soldiers still concentrate highly on the commander's call. The footsteps are even, strong, and decisive, creating a competitive atmosphere in the unit.

According to the commander of Regiment 148, in order to participate in the sports festival with high results, the unit has developed a detailed training plan and schedule; assigned officers to directly grasp, disseminate, and implement the regulations, rules, and charters of the sports festival for officers and soldiers to grasp and organize strict and practical training. "Sports is an important content of training work, contributing to improving the capacity, style of organizing, commanding, operating, managing troops and training organization methods of cadres at all levels; helping new soldiers have the opportunity to practice and mature. Through sports festivals, we can properly assess the actual results of training new soldiers, thereby having measures to improve the training results of the unit...", Lieutenant Colonel Le Thanh Hiep, Political Commissar of Regiment 148 emphasized.
