Gold price today April 19: Plunging after hot direction?

Domestic gold prices suddenly plummeted after the urgent directive of Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc. Enterprises began to rapidly adjust gold prices down from around 6:30 p.m. on April 18.

On the morning of April 19, Mi Hong bought SJC gold bars at 115 million VND/tael and sold at 119 million VND/tael - down 2 million VND compared to the morning of April 18.

Mi Hong also adjusted the price of 99.99 gold rings and jewelry gold by 2 million VND/tael, down to 111.5 million VND/tael for buying and 115 million VND/tael for selling.

In Ha Tinh , Mai Xuan Gold and Silver listed the price of 9999 gold at: buying at 11,290,000 VND/tael, selling at 11,380,000 VND/tael.

Meanwhile, major gold companies such as PNJ, SJC, DOJI , Bao Tin Minh Chau, Bao Tin Manh Hai traded around 117 million VND/tael for buying and 120 million VND/tael for selling.

The Government Office has just issued a document conveying the direction of Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc on the domestic gold price movement.

Accordingly, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc requested the State Bank of Vietnam and relevant agencies to closely monitor the situation and developments in the domestic and international financial, gold and foreign exchange markets. This agency must immediately implement solutions to stabilize the gold market, increase transparency, inspect and strictly handle violations according to regulations. In particular, it is necessary to prevent manipulation, price fixing and speculation in the gold market, and immediately implement measures to stabilize social psychology.

In April 2024, domestic gold prices also continued to increase dramatically. Immediately after that, the Government requested the State Bank of Vietnam to inspect, investigate, and strictly handle cases of smuggling, speculation, and gold price manipulation. As a result, the prices of SJC gold bars and gold rings plummeted in the following days.
