Central Committee of Vietnam Veterans Association: Visit and work with the Veterans Association of Tay Ninh province

Currently, more than 1,700 veteran households have received loans from the Social Policy Bank with a total outstanding debt of more than 560 billion VND.

On the morning of March 26, a working delegation of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association (VVA) led by Mr. Do Nhu Tuan - Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Movement Department of the Vietnam Veterans Association came to inspect and grasp the situation of the movement and the implementation of loan entrustment from the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies in 2024 and the first months of 2025.

Reporting to the delegation, Mr. Nguyen Van That - Vice Chairman of the Association of War Veterans of Tay Ninh province said that up to now, the Association has nearly 13,600 members/13,032 households. By March 2025, there were 21 near-poor war veteran households (rate of 0.16%); 992 households with average living standards (7.61%); 12,011 well-off and rich households (92.16%).

Regarding the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses, it is expected that by the end of 2025, a total of 81 houses will be eliminated, of which 25 will be newly built and 56 will be repaired.

Regarding preferential credit loans and implementation of the entrustment of the Social Policy Bank, the total outstanding debt that the Association is managing is about 561 billion VND with 1,788 war veteran households receiving loans; there are 357 savings and loan groups (TK&VV), of which 246 groups are headed by war veteran members.

As of March 2025, internal capital contributed to borrow without interest or at low interest rates for economic development had a total outstanding debt of nearly 30 billion VND, providing jobs for over 6,400 workers.

Concluding the meeting, Mr. Do Nhu Tuan - Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Movement Department of the Vietnam Veterans Association acknowledged and highly appreciated the spirit of initiative, overcoming difficulties, solidarity and efforts of the Veterans Association at all levels in Tay Ninh province. Mr. Do Nhu Tuan suggested that in the coming time, the associations at all levels in the province actively participate in campaigns and patriotic emulation movements, constantly innovate the quality of activities to build a comprehensively strong association, contributing to the development of the economy, society, ensuring national defense and security in the locality.
