Vietnam Airlines officially opened a direct flight to the world's largest airport Daxing (Beijing) today (March 30).
The first flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Beijing (China) with flight number VN516 of Vietnam Airlines officially departed at 00:45 on March 30 and landed at Daxing International Airport at 6:30 the same day (local time).
In the opposite direction, flight VN517 took off from Dai Hung airport at 8:30 a.m. on March 30 (local time) and landed at Tan Son Nhat international airport at 12:25 p.m. the same day (local time).
The Ho Chi Minh City - Beijing route is operated with a frequency of 5 flights per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays using Airbus A321 aircraft. With the opening of the new route, Vietnam Airlines will operate a total of 6 routes between Vietnam and China with a frequency of 40 flights per week, connecting major cities of the two countries such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City with Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou.
The Ho Chi Minh City - Beijing route is expected to meet the growing travel demand between Vietnam and China. According to the General Statistics Office, in 2024, the number of Chinese visitors to Vietnam will reach more than 3.7 million, an increase of 214% compared to 2023, making China the best growing market of the year.
To mark the 30th anniversary of its establishment and development (1995-2025), inheriting the nearly 70-year tradition of the 919th Air Transport Regiment, joining hands with the Vietnamese aviation industry and the country to enter a new era, Vietnam Airlines will open and restore 15 international routes in 2025, continuing to expand the flight network connecting to countries such as Italy, Denmark, the Middle East, Russia, China...
