Here, comrade Nguyen Quang Duong announced the Politburo's decision to transfer and assign Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Gau, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, to cease holding the position of member of the Central Military Commission for the 2020-2025 term; transfer and appoint him to join the Executive Committee, Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, to hold the position of Secretary of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term and to join the Party Committee of Military Region 1 for the 2020-2025 term.
Speaking at the conference, Comrade Luong Cuong congratulated Comrade Nguyen Van Gau on being trusted by the Politburo to mobilize and appoint him to join the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, and hold the position of Secretary of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term. He affirmed that Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Gau is a capable and experienced cadre; has a sharp mind, scientific working methods, a simple and healthy lifestyle, has been well-trained, matured from the grassroots, and has held many positions.
Regardless of his position, comrade Nguyen Van Gau always strives to complete all assigned tasks well, making many contributions to units and localities. We believe that comrade Nguyen Van Gau will continue to promote his own experiences; quickly grasp the local situation, and work with the Standing Committee and the Provincial Party Committee to build solidarity and lead the local socio-economic development.
The Standing member of the Secretariat requested the Executive Committee and Standing Committee of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee, together with leaders at all levels and sectors in the province, to continue to strengthen solidarity, make greater efforts, and join the Provincial Party Secretary in leading the successful implementation of assigned tasks; focus on stabilizing the situation; in the immediate future, complete the tasks of 2024, and at the same time prepare well in all aspects to successfully organize the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term, towards the 14th National Party Congress.
Comrade Luong Cuong believes that the Party Committee of Bac Giang province will continue to promote the achievements, overcome difficulties and limitations to promote the socio-economic development of the province, worthy of the people's trust.
Speaking at the ceremony to receive the new assignment, comrade Nguyen Van Gau thanked comrade General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, the Standing Secretariat, the Politburo, the Secretariat, and the Central Organization Committee for their attention, trust, introduction, and assignment to the position of Secretary of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee - a province with a strategic position in Military Region 1 and the Northern Midlands and Mountains; a locality in a period of breakthrough, rise, and strong development.
The new Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee expressed that the assigned task is a great honor, but also a heavy responsibility in front of the trust and expectations of the leaders of the Party, the State, the Politburo, the Secretariat, the Party Committee, the government, and more than 1.9 million people of Bac Giang. He has studied the documents of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term, and clearly feels the determination and strong aspiration of the entire Party Committee when setting the goal of "Building Bac Giang province to develop comprehensively and firmly, among the group of 15 provinces and cities with leading economic scale in the country by 2025". The Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee promised to make great efforts, constantly learn, devote himself and devote himself; firmly consolidate the solidarity and unity in the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Party Committee, as a basis for promoting the strength of great national solidarity; determined to build Bac Giang to develop richly and strongly.

Comrade Nguyen Van Gau, born in 1967, from Tan Thuy commune, Ba Tri district, Ben Tre province; political theory level: advanced; professional level: bachelor of social sciences and humanities.
During his career, he has held many positions. Before 2019: Colonel, Deputy Political Commissar, Political Commissar of the 8th Infantry Division, Political Commissar of Military Region 9; in 2019: Major General, Political Commissar of Military Region 9; from November 2020 to January 2022: Major General, Political Commissar of Military Region 9; on January 30, 2021, at the 13th National Congress of the Party (term 2021-2026), he was elected as a member of the 13th Party Central Committee; January 2022: Major General, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; January 2023: Lieutenant General, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army.
From June 26, 2024, comrade Nguyen Van Gau was appointed as Secretary of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.
