"Effective assistant" in protecting border sovereignty

Ha Tinh Border Guard has implemented many programs, plans and activities to create a combined strength in building a people's border defense, firmly protecting territorial sovereignty and national border security.

Assigned to manage a 15km long border line and 5 landmarks in a complex mountainous area with many small roads, over the years, Son Hong Border Guard Station (Huong Son) has relied on the support and assistance of the people in carrying out its tasks. During the patrols of the Border Guard, local people always participate in supporting. They are familiar with the area, have a lot of information and are "effective assistants" in protecting border sovereignty.

Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung (in village 11, Son Hong commune) said: “We understand that we also have responsibilities and must contribute to the cause of border protection and homeland protection through specific actions. When I hear information or unusual signs, I will immediately report to the Border Guard and be ready to patrol the border with the border guards.”

10 years of moving to a new place is also the time when Hoa Thi village, Tho Dien commune (Vu Quang) has been cared for, helped and supported by the Border Guard in many aspects. In this fence, soldiers at Huong Quang Border Guard Station have regularly arranged forces to stay close to the area to accompany the people in building new rural areas, eliminating hunger and reducing poverty, ensuring security, helping lonely elderly people, taking care of families with preferential policies, helping children go to school, raising legal awareness for the people...

We also actively participate in border protection by promptly informing about unusual signs, raising vigilance against strangers entering the area, not entering the forest to hunt and illegally cross the border, not assisting others to cross the border, ready to participate in patrolling the border, landmarks, controlling the area...

Officers and soldiers of Lach Ken Border Guard Station went down to Xuan Lien beach to encourage fishermen to actively support the Border Guard in carrying out their duties.

On the sea route, officers and soldiers in border units such as Lach Ken (Nghi Xuan), Cua Sot (Loc Ha), Thien Cam (Cam Xuyen), Ky Khang (Ky Anh district), Deo Ngang (Ky Anh town)... always care for, look after and support fishermen and people in the coastal border area.

Border guards regularly stay close to fishing ports, fishing ports, and fishing grounds to propagate and remind fishermen to comply with regulations on seafood exploitation, prevent trawlers, ensure security and order at sea, and be aware of protecting the sovereignty of the homeland's sea and islands. Therefore, in each offshore trip, in addition to production purposes, people also have the task of protecting fishing grounds and protecting the sovereignty of the islands, which are "living landmarks" at sea.

Lieutenant Colonel Ho Manh Hung - Political Commissar of Lach Ken Border Guard Station said: "The people and fishermen in the area are very conscious and responsible in protecting the sovereignty and security of the maritime border. Everyone, every household has promoted their role and responsibility in providing information, coordinating with officers and soldiers of the Border Guard to organize patrols, control, repel trawlers, and grasp information about "strange ships" far offshore...".

Ky Khang Border Guard propagates to fishermen fishing in offshore areas not to exploit seafood illegally and to protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands.

To do a good job of border protection, Ha Tinh Border Guard has coordinated with authorities at all levels and mass organizations to promote the movement "All people participate in protecting national sovereignty, territory and border security" with specific actions and plans. Thereby, promoting the role and responsibility of nearly 77,000 households/292,000 people in 41 communes, wards and towns (of 9 districts and towns) to protect 164 km of land border and 137 km of coastline.

Along with promoting propaganda and mobilizing people in border areas to actively participate in border protection, the Border Guard has also actively participated in accompanying and helping people develop their family economy, build new rural areas, ensure social security, security and order... Thereby, contributing to strengthening the close relationship between the army and the people, creating trust among the people. Thanks to that, each year, people have provided the Border Guard with nearly 1,000 valuable reports on border protection and the fight against all kinds of crimes.
