On the afternoon of April 9, the Military Command of Thach Ha district (Ha Tinh) coordinated with the People's Committee of Thach Chau commune to organize a ceremony to announce the decision and award the "Fatherland's gratitude" certificate to martyr Le Ngoc Lan - who sacrificed his life in the resistance war against the US to save the country.

Comrade Le Ngoc Lan (born in 1944) is the only son in a family of three children in Chau Ha village, Thach Chau commune, Thach Ha district, Ha Tinh province. His father is Le Trong The (born in 1906) and his mother is Tran Thi Luc (born in 1907). Currently, all of Comrade Le Ngoc Lan's parents, older sister and younger sister have passed away.
In 1962, following the sacred call of the Fatherland, comrade Le Ngoc Lan joined the army to participate in the resistance war against America to save the country.
With courage, selflessness for the country, service for the people, on August 13, 1966, while marching with his comrades to fight in Quang Binh province, after a bombing raid by the American invaders, he passed away forever at the age of youth.
At the time of his death, he was a sergeant - Squad Leader of Station 41, Truong Son Corps. His remains were buried at the Martyrs' Cemetery of Viet Trung Farm Town, Bo Trach District, Quang Binh Province.

After nearly 60 years of sacrifice, due to the loss of documents and information due to the war, up to now, he has been recognized as a martyr by the Party and the State and has been awarded the "National Merit" certificate by the Prime Minister. This is an honor and pride for his family, clan, and hometown of Thach Chau, Thach Ha district.
