The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) stressed that the development of 240mm controllable shells for multiple rocket launchers and ballistic control systems will bring about a qualitative change in the multiple rocket launcher force.
KCNA reported on February 12 that North Korea has successfully developed a new type of guided ammunition and a ballistic control system for multiple rocket launchers.
According to KCNA, on February 11, the Academy of National Defense Science conducted a ballistic control test of a new type of ammunition for a 240mm rocket launcher, to evaluate the accuracy and advantages of this system.
KCNA stressed that the development of 240mm controllable shells for multiple rocket launchers and ballistic control systems will bring about a qualitative change in the multiple rocket launcher force of the North Korean army.
The development of a new type of ammunition and ballistic control system will help reassess the strategic value and utility of the 240mm rocket launcher and enhance its role on the battlefield, the North Korean Academy of Defense Science said.
