On the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union, on July 28, in Hanoi, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) held the 4th Nguyen Van Linh Award Ceremony and received the First Class Labor Medal. National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man attended and delivered a speech directing the program.
Before the award ceremony, all delegates in the hall observed a minute of silence to express their respect and deep gratitude to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, who has always had special affection and care for the working class.

At the ceremony, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man commended the outstanding achievements of the Trade Union organization, union members and workers nationwide over the past 95 years; congratulated 10 Trade Union officials who were awarded the Nguyen Van Linh Award and 95 outstanding and commended grassroots trade union and labor union chairmen.
The National Assembly Chairman assessed that after 95 years of establishment and development, the Vietnam Trade Union has continuously grown and matured, accompanied the nation, been a reliable and loyal support of the Party, wholeheartedly strived for the interests of the working class and laborers; made important and direct contributions to the great victory of the Vietnamese revolution. The working class and the Trade Union organization have always been the leading force in the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country.

In recent times, the Trade Union has made many breakthroughs and innovations in terms of organization, content and methods of operation. Trade unions at all levels, especially the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, have been proactive, creative, proposed and organized many practical activities to care for the lives of union members and workers such as "Tet Sum Vay", "Worker's Month"; Program: Prime Minister meets and dialogues with workers; National Labor Productivity Improvement Forum; Labor Forum; organizing thematic voter meetings between National Assembly deputies and voters who are workers, etc.
Vietnam Trade Union has been an important information channel for the National Assembly and the Government to grasp the thoughts and aspirations of workers, better perform the tasks of legislation, supervision and decision on issues directly related to the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers.
Along with the growth of the Trade Union organization, the working class has been supplemented in quantity and improved in quality; trade unions at all levels have cared for and introduced tens of thousands of excellent workers, civil servants and laborers for the Party and State to consider, appoint and promote to leadership positions at Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front and mass organizations at all levels.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man hopes that from the exemplary trade union officials who were awarded the Nguyen Van Linh Award, the excellent grassroots trade union and labor union chairmen who were recognized today will spread the spirit of innovation, creativity, and continuous striving among trade union officials at all levels, so that there will be more exemplary trade union officials who are worthy of continuing to receive awards and recognition and honor in the following years.
At the ceremony, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Nguyen Dinh Khang presented the Nguyen Van Linh Award to 10 trade union officials with outstanding achievements in caring for and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of workers and building a strong trade union organization.
| Speaking at the program, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang - President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor - emphasized: Over 95 years, through countless difficulties and challenges, under the leadership of the Party, the Vietnam Trade Union has continuously grown and matured, accompanied the nation, been a reliable and loyal force and support of the Party, closely attached to and wholeheartedly striving for the interests of the working class and laborers. In each historical period, the working class and the Vietnam Trade Union have made worthy contributions to the great victory of the Vietnamese revolution. Generations of union cadres and members have strived, made efforts, contributed and sacrificed for the Fatherland, embellishing the passionate patriotic tradition of the Vietnamese people, the tradition of solidarity and heroic, steadfast and indomitable struggle of the Vietnamese working class. |
