Awarding scholarships and bookshelves to encourage learning on the occasion of the new school year

On August 29, at the Community Cultural and Learning Center of An Phong commune, Thanh Binh district, the Dong Thap Provincial Association for the Promotion of Education in coordination with the People's Committee of Thanh Binh district organized the launching ceremony of the Month of Promotion of Education - Emulation to build a learning society in 2024.

Up to now, the whole An Phong commune has 4,450 learning families, 15 learning clans, 7 learning units, 5 learning communities. The movement of "raising piggy banks" to raise funds for education promotion is maintained; the work of mobilizing funds for education promotion is carried out regularly to take good care of students in difficult circumstances.

In addition, representatives of self-governing people's groups and typical families shared experiences and effective methods in implementing learning promotion activities and building learning clan models.

Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee Le Quoc Phong said that Dong Thap is a land of studiousness, which is proven through the number of families with a tradition of studying, students with good academic achievements, especially the number of students with difficult circumstances who have made efforts to improve their studies through the help of philanthropists.

Comrade Le Quoc Phong highly appreciated the learning and talent promotion activities of the Provincial Learning Promotion Association, association organizations and localities in the past time, which have contributed to connecting the knowledge bridge, encouraging learning in the province, and supporting disadvantaged students to continue their studies.

The Secretary of Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee hopes that through the launching ceremony of the Learning Promotion Month, there will be many typical examples in learning, models, and effective ways of promoting learning and talent that will be maintained and replicated during the Learning Promotion Month and in the coming time; at the same time, spreading the spirit of learning and lifelong learning to every citizen in the province.

Responding to the 2024 Learning Promotion Month, at the launching ceremony, comrade Le Quoc Phong awarded 40 scholarships to students with difficult circumstances who have overcome difficulties to study well in An Phong commune.

On this occasion, many organizations, individuals, units, businesses, and philanthropists donated resources to An Phong commune with a total value of 110 million VND to give gifts, scholarships, bicycles, and study corners to students from poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged households in the commune.

Of which, Dong Thap Lottery One Member Limited Liability Company supported 70 million VND, the rest was mobilized by the locality.

Dong Thap Province's Association for Promotion of Education also mobilized to donate a bookcase for promotion of education to An Phong 1 Primary School.
