Ho Chi Minh City guides additional recruitment for grade 10 in 2024, reduces recruitment criteria

The additional recruitment subjects are students who have taken the entrance exam for grade 10 in the 2024-2025 school year in Ho Chi Minh City. Public high schools that have not recruited enough students compared to the assigned quota will recruit additional students.

The condition for participating in additional admission is that students do not pass any admission wishes to public high schools and must have a total entrance exam score of 3 subjects: math, literature, foreign language plus priority points (if any) greater than or equal to the standard score of the 3rd wish of the public high school they want to register for admission.

For students who have studied at secondary schools in the areas of Can Gio, Nha Be, Binh Chanh, Hoc Mon, Cu Chi and Thu Duc city, if they register for schools in the same area as their secondary school, the total entrance exam score of the candidate will be considered according to the standard score of the first choice of the public high school they want to register for admission.

In which, Thu Duc city is divided into 3 regions (KV) in which KV1 includes schools in the old District 2, KV2 includes schools in the old District 9 and KV3 includes schools in the old Thu Duc district.

Each student is only allowed to register for additional enrollment at 1 public high school that has not yet met its assigned enrollment quota (according to the list attached in the appendix) and is not allowed to change schools after submitting the application for additional enrollment.

Thus, this condition is "easier" when students who have studied at secondary schools in the areas: Can Gio, Nha Be, Binh Chanh, Hoc Mon, Cu Chi and Thu Duc city, if registering for schools in the same area as the secondary school, will be able to submit their application at the first choice level - a lower score level.

No later than July 21, the Department of Education and Training will announce the list of high schools organizing additional enrollment and the enrollment quotas of each school.

Students wishing to enroll additional students must submit their application directly to the high school, including the 10th grade entrance exam score report issued by the middle school and stamped with a red seal.

Application period is from July 22 to 5:00 p.m. on July 27. On August 6, the units will announce the list of additional successful candidates.

A few days ago, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City also announced additional enrollment for integrated grade 10 for the 2024-2025 school year at 9 high schools.

Previously, the Department of Education and Training assigned enrollment targets to 113 public high schools according to Decision No. 921/QD-SGDĐT dated April 17, which was 71,020 targets (a decrease of 6,124 targets compared to the 2023-2024 school year).

Then, the Department assigned Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School (newly established) to recruit 205 regular and integrated grade 10 students.

On May 16, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City continued to announce the addition of 5,535 10th grade enrollment quotas to 62 public high schools. Thus, the addition of 10th grade enrollment quotas has increased the total enrollment quota this year to about 76,760 students.
