With the efforts, endeavors, joint efforts, and consensus of the entire political system, armed forces, business community, and all classes of people, in 2024, the socio-economic development of Cam Pha City will achieve many important results.
Production value of all industries increased
In 2024, the city continues to face many difficulties and challenges affecting all aspects of social life. Following the leadership and direction of the province, the City Party Committee, the People's Council, and the People's Committee of Cam Pha City, in 2024, the city's socio-economic development will be stable, with production values of all sectors increasing compared to the previous year. Of which, the production value of industry and construction is estimated to increase by 5.21%; the production value of agriculture, forestry, and fishery Estimated increase of 8.02%; production value of trade and service sectors estimated increase of 18.05% over the previous year.
The tourism industry continues to recover positively, with an estimated number of 1.35 million tourists (an increase of 200,000 compared to the growth scenario), and an estimated revenue of VND 830 billion (an increase of VND 100 billion compared to the scenario). The city is implementing the City Tourism Development Project for the 2020-2030 period, with a vision to 2050. At the same time, it is promoting propaganda and exploiting 5 tourist destinations recognized by the province; including effectively exploiting the Yoko Onsen Quang Hanh high-class hot spring resort. The city coordinated to organize the final round of the Miss Vietnam Tourism Contest 2024 at the Green Dragon City Urban Area Square (Cam Trung Ward); attracting nearly 10,000 visitors and people to participate. The city focuses on communication work to promote the typical values of the province and Cam Pha to domestic and international tourists.
The city has built a tourist itinerary on Bai Tu Long Bay and Ha Long Bay to connect Cam Pha City with Ha Long City and Van Don District; Cam Pha has also coordinated to build tourist itineraries and overnight anchorages on Ha Long Bay and Bai Tu Long Bay.
Unleashing resources to attract investment
In 2024, the city will implement the annual working theme "Focusing on removing difficulties, unlocking resources, attracting investment. Improving the quality of economic growth; developing culture and people rich in Quang Ninh identity". The city will focus on investment promotion. The city will coordinate with the Department of Planning and Investment, the Provincial Investment Promotion and Support Board to update and supplement projects that need to call for and attract investment, as a basis for implementing effective investment promotion procedures, such as the following projects: New urban area, tourism service complex in Quang Hanh ward; Ecological urban area combined with Yoko Park thematic park in Quang Hanh ward; Solid waste treatment complex in Mong Duong ward. The city issued a document urging investors of the Cam Pha Trade Center and Supermarket Project (Cam Thach ward) to promptly complete construction organization procedures, ensuring the approved schedule.
The city supports investors in carrying out procedures to implement the Service, Tourism and Eco-Urban Area Project in Area 4B (Cua Ong Ward). In which, the City People's Committee directs the City Construction Investment Project Management Board and Cua Ong Ward People's Committee to hand over 255,444/362,368m2 of land to the investor; for the remaining area, departments, offices and units actively coordinate with investors to carry out site clearance. The city creates conditions for investors to remove difficulties and obstacles of the Bai Tu Long II Urban Tourism and Service Area Project (Cam Trung Ward); Mong Duong Petroleum Warehouse and Port Project of Petro Binh Minh Company Limited...
The city consulted with the Department of Planning and Investment in formulating policies and adjustments for 22 off-budget projects (8 projects of the Coal industry, 14 off-budget projects); organized 2 meetings to resolve difficulties and obstacles of TKV and Dong Bac Corporation; received and resolved 7 Proposed content of Dong Bac Corporation, 18 proposed content of TKV.
The city maintains meetings with the Business Association and contacts with local businesses; organizes conferences to remove difficulties for businesses. Up to now, basically, the recommendations of businesses have been resolved within the authority. The city has developed investment promotion documents and worked with the Korean Business Association in Hai Phong City on the strategic cooperation program with partner businesses in cooperation to build a smart city.
Chairman of the City People's Committee Pham Le Hung said: It is forecasted that in 2025, socio-economic development will be in a context of mixed difficulties and advantages. All levels, sectors, agencies and units of the city will continue to strive to overcome difficulties, overcome limitations and shortcomings, strongly promote growth drivers, mobilize and effectively use resources, resolutely, synchronously and effectively implement the tasks and solutions set out to strive to complete the 2025 plan.
