A US man has been arrested for allegedly saying on TikTok that President Donald Trump 'needs to be assassinated', authorities said.
The man arrested, Douglas Thrams, 23, posted several videos on TikTok since January 20, when Trump was inaugurated as the 47th president of the United States. By January 22, Thrams had threatened violence against the government, AFP reported, citing a criminal complaint filed on January 24.
“Every US government building needs to be bombed immediately,” Thrams said in a TikTok video.
Referring to Mr. Trump, Thrams continued: "He needs to be assassinated and this time, don't miss." Mr. Trump was the target of two assassination attempts last year, including one at his campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. That assassination attempt left Mr. Trump with an ear injury.
In another TikTok video, Thrams is seen holding a rifle and tapping on it, according to an FBI agent.

Thrams, from the US state of Indiana, was arrested on January 24, on charges of "making threats to cause bodily harm".
There is currently no information about President Trump's reaction to Thrams' arrest on the above charges.
On January 20, President Trump signed an executive order that would put a 75-day hold on the ban on TikTok in the United States. The order delayed the implementation of the Protecting Americans from Foreign-Controlled Apps Act. TikTok shut down in the United States late on January 18 as the deadline approached, leaving millions of users without access to the app. Trump then promised to issue an executive order as soon as he took office to delay the ban to allow time for a “deal,” and TikTok restored service in the United States on January 19.
