"Looking back at the glorious journey of more than 70 years of cooperation between Vietnam and Russia, we see that our relationship has always been warm, trustworthy, and has overcome all challenges of history," Russian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Sadykov Timur Sirozhevich affirmed on the afternoon of June 11 at a reception celebrating Russia's National Day held in the city.
In addition to the Russian consular delegation, the reception was also attended by Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Vo Van Hoan, Chinese Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City Wei Huaxiang, and representatives of consular agencies of Laos, Cuba, Kuwait, etc.

Mr. Sirozhevich emphasized that Russia's National Day - Russia Day June 12 is the day marking the beginning of fundamental changes in Russia.
Russia is proud of the achievements and military feats of its predecessors, while also cherishing its past, its great history, the centuries-old ties between generations, and the rich traditions and heritage of the Russian people.
Mr. Sirozhevich said that Russia's foreign policy priorities include strengthening equal and mutually beneficial cooperation with countries in the Asia-Pacific region, including Vietnam, a long-standing and reliable partner.
"Relations between Vietnam and Russia are characterized by closeness and similarities in history, culture and character of the two peoples," Mr. Sirozhevich added.
The Russian Consul General shared that the Russia-Vietnam relationship is united by common core values such as ardent patriotism, strong will to fight against foreign invaders, diligence, creativity and profound humanity.
Since 2001, Vietnam and Russia have been Strategic Partners. The two countries elevated their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2012.
“I believe that through joint efforts we will successfully achieve all our goals, for the benefit of our peoples and for the benefit of peace and security in the region,” Sirozhevich concluded.

In response to the Russian Consul General, the Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee sent warm congratulations to Mr. Sirozhevich and his wife, and Russian citizens in Ho Chi Minh City on the 34th anniversary of Russia's National Day.
Mr. Hoan said the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and the former Soviet Union, as well as Vietnam and Russia later, has a long history and has been cultivated by many generations of leaders and people of the two countries.
Vietnam always remembers the support and assistance of the Russian people for Vietnam in the cause of national construction, defense and development.
"In the process of implementing an independent, self-reliant, multilateral and diversified foreign policy, Vietnam always considers Russia one of its top important partners," Mr. Hoan emphasized.
In addition, Mr. Hoan said that Ho Chi Minh City has always been one of the leading localities in promoting the Vietnam - Russia bilateral relationship through economic - tourism cooperation projects and vibrant delegation exchange activities.
Russia currently has 66 investment projects in the city with a total capital of more than 56.5 million USD. Ho Chi Minh City has established friendly and cooperative relations with 5 localities of Russia, including Sverdlovsk province, Saint Petersburg city, Moscow city, Moscow province and Vladivostok city.
