On the afternoon of February 14, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, General Secretary To Lam received Chairman of SK Group and Chairman of the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Chey Tae-won.
At the reception, welcoming the Chairman of SK Group to visit and work in Vietnam, General Secretary To Lam highly appreciated the achievements of SK Group in the process of investing and doing business in Vietnam in recent times; at the same time, thanked the Chairman and SK Group for their feelings for Vietnam.
Expressing satisfaction with the good development of Vietnam-Korea relations in all fields, the General Secretary emphasized that Korea is always among the leading countries in investment and trade in Vietnam, on that basis, the two countries are aiming for a trade turnover of 150 billion USD by 2030; highly appreciating the practical contributions of Korean enterprises investing and doing business in Vietnam, including SK Group, thereby making an important contribution to Vietnam's socio-economic development.
Appreciating the plan to implement new projects of SK Group in Vietnam in line with Vietnam's socio-economic development orientations, the General Secretary suggested that SK Group cooperate closely with relevant agencies and localities of Vietnam to soon implement the projects in the fastest, most practical and effective way.
At the meeting, SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won reported on SK Group's investment activities in Vietnam in recent times and plans to expand investment in Vietnam in the coming time.
Emphasizing that SK Group has world-leading capabilities in the energy sector, SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won wishes to cooperate in implementing related fields in Vietnam to contribute to the sustainable development of Vietnam's economy. Accordingly, SK Group wishes to cooperate with Vietnam to implement energy solutions combined with the development of key industries such as investing in LNG power infrastructure in Vietnam combined with the development of potential cooperation projects related to AI Data Centers, Hydrogen energy and Small Modular Reactors (SMR), high-tech agriculture and logistics.
