General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong affirmed that Vietnam's current position is thanks to the "bamboo diplomacy" policy, flexible yet resilient.
On the morning of October 14, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and delegates from constituency 1, Hanoi delegation, met with voters in Hai Ba Trung, Ba Dinh, and Dong Da districts, before the 6th session of the 15th National Assembly.

After listening to opinions, the General Secretary spent about 40 minutes sharing with voters about many issues, including answering voter Phung Huy Dan (Dong Da) about the event of US President Joe Biden's official visit to Vietnam at the invitation of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and the Vietnam-US upgrading of relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
The General Secretary agreed with Mr. Dan, saying that through such diplomatic activities, Vietnam's position has been increasingly enhanced in the international arena. The US affirmed its support for Vietnam as a strong, independent, self-reliant and prosperous nation, demonstrating the role and prestige of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the country have been enhanced in the international arena.
"Our country has never had such a foundation, potential, position and international prestige as it does today," the General Secretary said, once again affirming the "Vietnamese bamboo" diplomatic policy, which is flexible but very solid; supple but resilient. This is the foreign policy of our ancestors, especially the ideology of President Ho Chi Minh.

The General Secretary also emphasized the role and functions of the subjects in the political system according to the principle of "the Party leads, the State manages, and the people are the masters". The subjects in the political system must perform their functions and tasks according to regulations, avoiding the situation of "crabs relying on their claws, fish relying on their fins"; "everyone thinks their power is great".
According to him, when meeting with voters, National Assembly deputies must avoid formalities and listen attentively to their opinions. Voters and the people play an important role in monitoring and inspection activities. Therefore, before and after each session, deputies must meet with voters to ask for their opinions and report on the results of the session.
