Up to now, Hong Ngu City has implemented construction and development in a modern, sustainable, and environmentally friendly direction, achieving 96/100 points according to the criteria for a type III urban area and 90.95/100 points according to the criteria for a type II urban area . Specifically: the total urban population is 100,610 people, urban construction land is 1,556 hectares; the population density of the inner city area calculated on urban construction land is 7,308 people/km2; the urbanization rate is 100%; the green area in the inner city area is 5.4%; the green area in the entire urban area is 5.1%; the rate of non-agricultural labor in the inner city area is 81.13%.

Urban beautification work has been invested in and implemented in conjunction with ensuring environmental sanitation. From 2021 to present, Hong Ngu City has constructed hot asphalt concrete pavement on 59 roads with a length of nearly 31km, an asphalt concrete pavement area of ​​more than 247,300m2 and paved sidewalks on roads with a total area of ​​nearly 44,100m2 with a cost of over 197 billion VND. In addition, key and important projects have been put into use such as: Fountain at Vo Nguyen Giap Square (An Thanh Ward), drainage system of Hung Vuong Street (An Thanh Ward), traffic road combined with embankment of Zone 5 (An Binh A Ward). Hong Ngu City is interested in planning and investing in the construction of rural roads to ensure traffic infrastructure and create development momentum in rural areas such as: roads to the border of Tan Hoi commune, roads connecting industrial clusters, technical infrastructure of Dong Thap border gate economic zone (phase 3)... contributing to environmental protection and creating beauty for the young city.

According to the People's Committee of Hong Ngu City, determining the planning and development of urban infrastructure is one of the important tasks in urban development. Therefore, the People's Committee of Hong Ngu City has coordinated with relevant departments and units to review, adjust and supplement the planning projects, projects and programs that have been implemented to basically ensure that they are suitable to the actual situation of the city and the development trend according to the criteria for approaching a type II urban area. Specifically, regarding urban planning, 3 general planning projects have been approved, 13 zoning plans have been approved and 9 detailed planning projects have been approved and adjusted, key projects have been implemented (raising the clearance of Hong Ngu bridge, An Lac ward resettlement area, Tien river bank erosion protection embankment, etc.), contributing to the local socio-economic development. In addition, Hong Ngu City regularly leads and directs the promotion of investment calling, creates favorable conditions, and actively supports economic sectors to participate in infrastructure investment. Up to now, a number of investors have implemented projects such as: Dong An Thanh Urban Area, Sky Hotel, An Hoa Industrial Cluster, Tan Hiep Hong Ngu Commercial - Service Area...

In the coming time, Hong Ngu City will strengthen propaganda to all cadres, party members and people of the city about the purpose, requirements and tasks of urban development in the new period, especially the mechanisms and policies to encourage the implementation of socialization in urban construction and development. Continue to call for investment promotion and urge the acceleration of the implementation of investment projects in the area and deploy more zoning plans, to gradually cover the construction land area to concretize the zoning plan in accordance with urban architecture.
