The strategic support line became a battlefield with a large space across the Truong Son mountain range, a symbol of the iron determination and passionate affection of the entire Party, the entire people, especially President Ho Chi Minh, for the sacred cause of liberating the South and unifying the Fatherland.

During the 16 years of resistance war against the US to save the country (1959-1975), Group 559 - Truong Son Army played a great role, successfully completed the mission of supporting the battlefields in the South, contributing significantly to the General Offensive and Uprising in the Spring of Mau Than 1968, the Strategic Offensive in 1972, the Victory on Route 9 - Southern Laos and the Great Victory in the Spring of 1975 with the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign, unifying the country.
