The number of measles, flu, and hand, foot and mouth disease cases in Hanoi are all increasing.

According to the Hanoi CDC, in the first 3 months of this year, the city recorded 1,355 cases of measles in 30/30 districts, towns and cities and 1 death; while there were no cases in the same period in 2024. Notably, not only children, but also adults were recorded to have measles, including cases with severe complications.

Along with measles, at present, the number of hand, foot and mouth disease cases is increasing according to the annual epidemic cycle. There have been some outbreaks recorded in kindergartens and communities. If in January and February 2025, there were only an average of 10-30 hand, foot and mouth disease cases recorded per week, by the end of March 2025, it had increased to 100-180 cases per week. Along with that, the number of seasonal flu cases continues to increase with 4,267 cases in 30 districts, towns and cities, an increase of about 1.5 times compared to the same period in 2024.
