Learn Vietnamese history to be proud of the heroic city

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the contest, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union Truong Minh Tuoc Nguyen said that the contest contributed to educating the tradition and history of the city's youth union members and children, towards the 95th anniversary of the Party's founding (February 3), the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30) and the 50th anniversary of Saigon - Gia Dinh city officially being named after President Ho Chi Minh (July 2).

Playground for Vietnamese history lovers

The qualifying round with the online competition takes place on Tuoi Tre Online newspaper at: https://tuhaosuviet.tuoitre.vn.

Candidates are divided into four groups: group A (members of the Youth Union), group B (members of the Pioneers, children), group C (readers of Tuoi Tre newspaper) and group D (individuals and groups interested in learning about history...).

The online round of “History Knowledge” is only for groups A, B, C and is held in two rounds. Round 1 is from October 17 to 23, round 2 is from October 24 to 30.

For group D candidates, the writing round "Spreading Vietnamese history" will take place from October 17 to 30.

The organizers said the 20 contestants with the highest scores will advance to the final round. Of these, 10 contestants will be from Group A, 5 from Group B, and 5 from Group C.

You are divided into 5 teams (4 members/team), competing together in 3 parts: Young people telling history, Young people understanding history and Young people loving history.

More pride in tradition

Dang Thanh Vinh, deputy secretary of the Linh Tay Ward Youth Union (Thu Duc City), has just completed the first round of multiple choice questions and shared that the contest not only helps review historical knowledge but also creates opportunities for students to search for more documents and expand their knowledge.

“I will read over any questions I have doubts about the answer I choose many times, which will help me grasp the knowledge more firmly. I will share information and encourage youth teams, groups, and local team members and children to participate in the contest,” Vinh said.

Phan Ngoc Hien (student of the University of Economics and Law, Ho Chi Minh City National University) said that when he heard about the contest "Pride in Vietnamese History", he registered to open an account on Tuoi Tre Online newspaper to participate.

Hien said he loves history very much. The more he learns, the more useful things he finds. He is more proud of his country's history and his father's indomitable tradition.

“From history, I see that the responsibility of today's youth is not only to preserve traditions but also to build a rich and beautiful country, protect independence and sovereignty, and demonstrate a spirit of love for peace,” Hien expressed.
