The above cluster bombs were discovered and collected by local people during the process of reclaiming land for planting hybrid acacia and mining construction stone in the Monkey Mountain area in An Tho village, Tinh Son commune, Son Tinh district.
To ensure absolute safety in destroying hundreds of cluster bombs, the engineering force collected and gathered them at designated locations, placed warning signs at locations with bombs and mines, and informed people not to approach the area within a radius of 1,000 - 1,500 m.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Vo Van Loi, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Quang Ngai Provincial Military Command, the authorities brought all the collected bombs to four deep holes, detonated them with explosives, and then carefully inspected them before filling the holes.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Loi , after destroying the above bombs and mines, the Quang Ngai Provincial Military Command will report to Military Region 5 and the Ministry of National Defense to have a plan to evaluate and review to handle all the bombs and mines left over from the war still buried underground in the Monkey Mountain area.
