According to Insider Gaming , Mohammad Alavi, a former developer at Respawn Entertainment, has claimed that Titanfall 3 was in development for 10 months before being canceled.
Titanfall 3 is the much-anticipated successor to Titanfall 2. According to Mohammad Alavi, the development team at Respawn has been working on the game for more than 10 months, trying to build new technologies into it, hoping that the game will be a big hit for the franchise.
Titanfall 3 was in development for 10 months before being canceled.
However, development was troubled. The online multiplayer team had a tough time, as fans loved the feature but it didn't work as expected. The developers tried to fix this in Titanfall 1 , then Titanfall 2 , and finally 3.
The big reason Titanfall 3 was put on hold was to make way for Respawn to focus on creating a Battle Royale game in the Titanfall universe – later called Apex Legends .
According to the former developer, his team worked hard on Titanfall 3 , but they still felt that something needed to be changed drastically. So the team canceled the sequel. This was such a big and bold decision that EA didn't even know about their decision for more than 6 months.
Developer Alavi was also reportedly working on another Titanfall/Apex Legends game in 2022 before it was canceled. According to Jason Schreier, EA has stopped developing a game based on the Apex Legends and Titanfall franchises that was internally known as 'Titanfall Legends'.
