Received more than 17.3 billion VND in response to Humanitarian Month 2025

On April 4, at the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion (5 Pham Van Bach, Hanoi), the Hanoi Red Cross Society organized a rally to respond to the National Voluntary Blood Donation Day (April 7), launch the Humanitarian Month 2025 and summarize the "Humanitarian Tet" movement 2025.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the program, Chairman of the Hanoi Red Cross Society Le Tu Luc, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the City's Voluntary Blood Donation Steering Committee, affirmed: Initiated since 1994, the voluntary blood donation movement in Hanoi has always been vibrant, achieved many remarkable achievements and become a bright spot in the blood donation movement of the whole country. In the first 3 months of 2025 alone, Hanoi received over 72,000 units of blood. The movement has become a beautiful, humane cultural feature, attracting people from all walks of life in the capital to participate.

Launching the Humanitarian Month 2025 to all levels of the Association, agencies, units, enterprises, organizations, individuals, and people of the capital, Chairman of the Hanoi Red Cross Society Le Tu Luc emphasized: In 2025, the Humanitarian Month will be implemented with the theme "Humanitarian Journey - Spreading Love". Promoting the achievements and effectiveness of the Humanitarian Month in the past years, this year the Hanoi Red Cross Society continues to implement the Humanitarian Month with key activities, assisting the poor, people in difficult circumstances, policy families, and vulnerable people in society with many different forms of support. The activities are organized to practically respond to the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South, National Reunification, the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh, and the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Day on May 8.

At the program, the Hanoi Red Cross Society received registrations to respond to the 2025 Humanitarian Month from units and emulation clusters of over 17.3 billion VND. Of which, 5 emulation clusters of the city's Red Cross Society registered to respond with over 13.1 billion VND and units, businesses, organizations, and philanthropists registered to respond with over 4.2 billion VND.

Speaking at the program, Mr. Nguyen Hai Anh - Vice President, General Secretary, Executive Director of the Vietnam Red Cross Society said: The programs and activities implemented by the Society at all levels have demonstrated the role and responsibility in humanitarian work and the practical response of the Vietnam Red Cross Society to the country's historical events, contributing to spreading the tradition of patriotism, solidarity and humanity of the Vietnamese people.

On this occasion, to recognize and commend units and individuals with achievements in the "Charitable Tet" movement in 2025, 3 collectives and 5 individuals with achievements were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Hanoi People's Committee.

Hanoi Red Cross Society awarded Certificates of Merit to 33 groups and individuals, including 22 groups that excellently completed their tasks in the movement, 9 units and 2 individuals with many contributions to the "Charitable Tet" movement 2025.

In particular, in practical response to April 7 this year with the message "Millions of hearts share Vietnamese blood", within the framework of the program, the Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation of Hanoi City organized a Voluntary Blood Donation Festival, expected to receive over 400 units of blood.

More than 107.5 billion VND to support people through the "Tet Charity" movement 2025

Within the framework of the program, the Organizing Committee summarized the "Humanitarian Tet" movement 2025. Accordingly, implementing the direction of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, the Hanoi Party Committee and People's Committee, with the attention and support of units, businesses and philanthropists, the "Humanitarian Tet" movement was successfully organized by the Hanoi Red Cross Society, exceeding the initial assigned target. As a result of the "Humanitarian Tet" movement in 2025, the Associations at all levels in the city supported the donation of 136,774 gifts with a total value of more than 107.5 billion VND (including cash and items converted into money).

72 Charity Tet Market programs of different scales were widely organized by the Association at all levels before Tet. Along with that was a series of programs and activities to support people in difficult circumstances in the city and provinces (Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Phu Tho, Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Ha Giang, Hoa Binh, Son La, Dien Bien, Lang Son...).

Programs and activities to support the construction, repair and renovation of houses; livelihood support; giving savings books, health insurance cards, scholarships, bicycles, etc. to students, families in difficult circumstances, and families with preferential policies, etc. are regularly organized and paid attention to by the Association at all levels, with an average support level of over 780,000 VND/person per case. There were 136,774 people supported in different forms, reaching a value of over 107 billion VND during the recent Lunar New Year.

The above results once again affirm the spreading power of a humanitarian movement, promoting the strength of the community to connect and create values ​​of humanity, sharing and love.
