Prime Minister: Emulation and rewards must create motivation and inspiration for the whole nation to enter a new era.

On the afternoon of April 17, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Chairman of the Central Emulation and Reward Council for the 2021-2026 term (Council), chaired the 11th meeting of the Council to assess the implementation of tasks in the past time and promote the implementation of tasks in the coming time; at the same time, consider awarding and posthumously awarding the titles "Hero of the People's Armed Forces" and "Hero of Labor" to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in building and defending the Fatherland.

Attending the meeting were: Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien, Vice Chairman of the Council; Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan, First Vice Chairman of the Council; Minister of Home Affairs Pham Thi Thanh Tra, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Council; Council members who are leaders of central ministries, departments and branches.

After the members discussed and the Council implemented the process to propose awarding and posthumously awarding the titles of "Hero of the People's Armed Forces" and "Hero of Labor" to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in building and defending the Fatherland, concluding the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Chairman of the Council, assessed that in 2024 and the first quarter of 2025, the Council and the Standing Committee of the Central Emulation and Reward Council always closely followed the country's political tasks and the actual situation, promoted their roles, actively and effectively implemented activities and successfully completed the set contents and tasks.

The Prime Minister said that the completion of the legal system on emulation and commendation and the promulgation of a system of legal documents detailing the Law on Emulation and Commendation have been closely directed; so far, they have been basically completed, creating favorable conditions for the implementation of the Law on Emulation and Commendation in ministries, branches and localities.

The emulation and reward work has been actively directed and implemented by the Government, ministries, departments, branches and localities in a focused, practical and effective manner. Emulation movements nationwide continue to be widely and synchronously deployed, with rich content and diverse forms, contributing significantly to the socio-economic changes of the country.

The Prime Minister said that ministries, departments, branches and localities have launched and implemented rich, creative, exciting, practical and widespread emulation movements aimed at implementing difficult, key and urgent tasks to successfully achieve the set goals, tasks and socio-economic development plans.

In particular, the movement "The whole country joins hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" is being carried out very enthusiastically, meaningfully, and humanely, with many localities striving to complete it ahead of schedule; the movement "Competition to complete the 500kV power transmission line circuit 3" is bringing high efficiency; the movement "500 days and nights to complete 3,000km of expressway" is approaching the finish line; the movement "Digital education for the masses"... is very exciting.

The Prime Minister said that 2025 is a year with many historical events in the country, especially the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025); the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025); the 80th anniversary of the People's Public Security Traditional Day (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025); the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025); and the full year of the traditional anniversaries of many ministries, branches, localities and units.

In that context, the whole country is carrying out a "revolution in organizational arrangement"; making breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation; promoting international integration in the new situation; promoting the implementation of the 8% growth target in 2025, creating momentum and force to achieve the double-digit growth target in the following years to strive to achieve the two 100-year goals; identifying private economic development as the most important driving force in Vietnam's economic development...

Therefore, the Prime Minister requested the Council to continue to guide and encourage ministries, departments, branches and localities to actively promote emulation and reward work. In particular, continue to promote existing emulation movements; research and launch additional movements, in line with the key tasks that the whole country is focusing on implementing such as: Movement "The whole country competes in innovation and digital transformation", movement "Learning foreign languages, protecting the environment among youth", ... to create movements and a vibrant competitive atmosphere throughout the country to carry out strategic tasks.

The evaluation of the commendation work was basically carried out in accordance with regulations, the quality of commendation was improved, promptly serving the country's political tasks; commendation of outstanding achievements, commendation of direct laborers, production, business and work with typical achievements was carried out promptly, the Prime Minister requested that the consideration of commendation must be truly objective, honest, and truly typical.

The Prime Minister requested that along with doing a good job of commendation, it is necessary to build advanced models; organize summaries and replicate advanced models so that the whole society, especially the young generation, can follow the example of good people and good deeds; replicate and spread movements, inspire and motivate the whole nation to be proud and confident in entering a new era, an era of national prosperity./.
