With a torn cruciate ligament injury, midfielder Phan Van Duc of Hanoi Police FC had to say goodbye to V-League 2023.
Midfielder Phan Van Duc suffered an unfortunate injury after receiving the ball in the middle of the field, in the recent match between Cong An Ha Noi FC and Khanh Hoa FC in the 2023 National Cup qualifying round. He was immediately taken care of by the club's medical team but could not continue playing.
According to the announcement from Hanoi FC Police on the afternoon of April 4, the scan results showed that Phan Van Duc was diagnosed with a complete tear of the anterior cruciate ligament and a grade I contusion of the posterior horn of the meniscus. According to the doctors' assessment, with this injury, Phan Van Duc will have to stay away from the field for about 9 months, and at the same time have to say goodbye to V-League 2023 .
Phan Van Duc's serious injury is a significant loss for Hanoi Police FC in particular and the Vietnamese team in general in the plan towards important goals in 2023. Most recently, Hanoi Police FC will host Hai Phong FC in round 5 of V-League 2023. With a series of 3 consecutive matches without a win plus Phan Van Duc's serious injury, the new Hanoi Police FC is facing many difficulties.
Midfielder Van Duc ended his contract with Song Lam Nghe An early to join Cong An Ha Noi FC from the beginning of the 2023 season. Before this injury, Van Duc had twice suffered right knee injuries, including a severe relapse that required surgery in 2019 and forced him to miss most of this season.
