Tien Linh officially says goodbye to Vietnam national team

Coach Troussier decided to remove Tien Linh and Trieu Viet Hung after these two players were injured and could not recover in time to play for the Vietnam team during the FIFA Days in June 2023. Previously, Tien Linh and Viet Hung were removed from the list of 30 Vietnamese players for the friendly match with the Hong Kong team (China).

In this national team meeting, Tien Linh had to practice separately due to muscle strain. In V-League 2023, after coach Le Huynh Duc "sat in the hot seat" at Becamex Binh Duong, Tien Linh was often absent from the starting lineup because his physical condition was not good enough to play football at high intensity.

Meanwhile, Trieu Viet Hung has contributed greatly to the excellent performance of Hai Phong FC in the last two seasons. The player who grew up at Hoang Anh Gia Lai deserved to be on the list of the Vietnam national team under new coach Troussier, but unfortunately suffered an injury while training with the national team.

The medical team's examination results show that Trieu Viet Hung will need at least half a month to recover and will find it difficult to compete at the FIFA Days in June 2023 as well as participate in the upcoming round 12 of V-League 2023.

Previously, the 68-year-old French coach also said goodbye to 6 players, including: goalkeeper Nguyen Manh, defender Hong Duy, Adriano Schmidt, Nguyen Thanh Chung, midfielder Nguyen Trong Long and Le Pham Thanh Long.

The Vietnamese team traveled to Hai Phong on June 13 to prepare for the first international friendly match under coach Troussier. Coach Troussier and his team will host Hong Kong (China) at Lach Tray Stadium at 7:30 p.m. on June 15 (FPT Play).
