According to many households in Cam Ranh City, Khanh Hoa Province, in recent days, lobster farmers in the area have been in a state of anxiety because traders have purchased the shrimp and then not paid, making their lives difficult.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Ha (Ba Ngoi Ward, Cam Ranh City) sadly said: "My family has been involved in lobster farming for many years, but has never been in such a difficult situation. Seeing everyone else raising lobsters is making big profits, but my husband and I are still in debt."

Ms. Ha said that about 7 years ago, she and her husband built a level 4 house along the coast, and received a loan from relatives to invest in lobster farming in Cam Ranh Bay. At first, they only raised a few pilot cages, then increased to 30 cages.
In mid-2022, Ms. Ha and her husband harvested lobsters and sold them to a trader named NTAT through an intermediary, Mr. Tran Huu Tranh (in Cam Thuan ward, Cam Ranh city) for about 500 million VND.
The couple planned to release a few thousand more shrimp to raise to increase their income. Unexpectedly, the buyer refused to pay for the shrimp and kept making promises over and over again.

Similarly, Mr. Truong Van An (who also raises and purchases lobsters in Cam Ranh Bay) said that he also collected lobsters from local people and sold them to Ms. NTAT through an intermediary, Mr. Tranh, for a total of about 11 billion VND, but for more than 2 years he has not been paid by the trader. After that, he had to sadly borrow from the bank and pay interest of tens of millions of VND/month.
Mr. Tran Huu Tranh (Cam Ranh City) said that in early 2022, Ms. NTAT introduced herself as the owner of the largest shrimp exporting enterprise in Vietnam and repeatedly asked Mr. Tranh to buy shrimp from people and resell it to Ms. NTAT with a price difference of 10,000 VND/kg.
At the beginning of the cooperation, Ms. NTAT paid in full. After that, she made excuses such as: The shrimp money had not arrived yet, the customer still owed money..., to prolong the payment period. After many times of asking for money, she wrote an IOU, then could not be contacted. Now he always lives in a state of anxiety and worry because he suddenly has a debt of tens of billions of dong.
According to lobster farmers in Cam Ranh, Ms. NTAT often buys lobsters at prices higher than the market and introduces herself as the largest shrimp exporter in Vietnam, so some shrimp farmers have placed their trust and agreed to let Ms. NTAT owe them a huge amount of money.
