On August 26, Mr. Nguyen Duc Tu Anh - Head of the Department of Education and Training of Hai Chau District, Da Nang - said that he is coordinating with relevant units to verify the case of the Little Kings independent preschool group being accused of feeding children spoiled noodles that caused stomach aches.
Suspected spoiled noodles cause stomachaches in many children
Ms. P. - a teacher at the Little Kings nursery group on 30/4 Street, Hai Chau District, Da Nang - said that on August 23, she posted online content accusing the nursery group of feeding children spoiled noodles, causing many children to have stomach aches.
The post included internal chats between the nursery manager and teachers discussing some children's stomach aches, suspected to be caused by sour noodles, but the manager said the noodles had been boiled.
Parent B. - whose child attends this nursery - told Tuoi Tre Online that on the evening of August 6, her child had diarrhea many times, but Ms. B. thought it was because of eating dinner, and the child's stomach was weak and painful.
When seeing Ms. P's post about spoiled noodles, Ms. B and some other parents recalled that at the same time, their children all had diarrhea.
The group manager answered but it was not satisfactory, many points were roundabout which made them upset.
It is worth mentioning that when the parents asked to see the documents related to food purchases, they found that the August purchase receipt had the signature of the caregiver who had previously quit her job.
"The representative of the nursery group said in a roundabout way that there was no decision from the ward about the caregiver's resignation. But all the parents know that no one who has resigned would sign the papers. Resigning does not require the ward's confirmation," said Ms. B.
This parent wants the authorities to verify whether or not there are dirty meals at school and the quality of the children's meals.

Confirm that the noodles are not spoiled
Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online , Ms. Nguyen Hoang Tieu Mai - the investor of this nursery group - said that from the time the teachers reported, 7-8 children in the classes had loose stools. From noon to afternoon of the same day and the next day, no children had unusual stools.
"The parents who came to see the school after the online post all had no children who had a bowel movement that morning. Only after the post was published did they ask the school to clarify that their children had a bowel movement since the evening of August 6, so there was no basis to conclude that spoiled noodles caused their children's stomachaches," said Ms. Mai.

Ms. Luong Thi Thuy Nhut - manager of this boarding group - said that early in the morning of August 6, the kitchen reported that the noodles had a sour smell. Ms. Nhut requested to buy noodles from another supplier to replace them.
"I tried the replacement batch of noodles and confirmed that it was the characteristic sour smell of noodles that arose when blanched, not that there was a problem with the noodles. The teacher reported that the sour smell of noodles was because the children had breakfast close to the time the replacement noodles were blanched, so the characteristic sour smell was stronger than usual, not that they were spoiled," said Ms. Nhut.
Regarding the receipt of goods signed by the retired caregiver, the investor of the nursery admitted that it was a mistake because the accountant took the old receipt form and did not change the name of the new caregiver, and the new caregiver signed the receipt with the old caregiver's name printed on it.
This is a different answer from the parents' reflection, but the representative of the children's group did not show the above import receipt and said it was only presented to the authorities.
The teacher has retired.
Ms. P. said she has quit her job to take care of her sick child. The owner of the nursery said that Ms. P. quit her job on August 22 without giving 30 days notice and was not paid, and that Ms. P. had posted false information that affected the nursery.
On the evening of August 26, Ms. P. said she had just received a job invitation from the Cyber Security Department of Da Nang City Police regarding her post.
