From March 24 to 28, at the invitation of the Government of Yunnan Province, China, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang led a delegation of foreign affairs agencies from 14 localities to visit and work in Yunnan Province, China.
Vietnamese localities participating in the Working Group include: Da Nang, Dak Lak, Dien Bien, Ha Giang, Hai Phong, Kien Giang, Lai Chau, Lao Cai, Nghe An, Phu Tho, Quang Binh, Son La, Vinh Phuc and Yen Bai.

Within the framework of the working program, the delegation had the following main activities: Meeting with Comrade Vuong Hao, Deputy Governor of Yunnan Province; attending the Seminar on strengthening foreign affairs between Vietnam and Yunnan, Seminar on promoting foreign affairs and cultural - tourism cooperation with Lijiang; visiting a number of economic, agricultural, cultural establishments, and new rural models.
At the meeting with the Vice Governor of Yunnan Province, Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Hang affirmed that the Party, State and people of Vietnam always attach importance to the neighborly relationship of "mountains connecting mountains, rivers connecting rivers", friendship and comprehensive cooperation with China, determining this to be the top priority in Vietnam's overall foreign policy.
The Deputy Minister emphasized that the special significance of this working visit is a vivid manifestation of the enhancement of local cooperation between the two sides, contributing to concretizing the common perception of the high-ranking leaders of the two Parties and two countries on enhancing friendly exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation between localities.
The two sides highly appreciated the local-level relations between Vietnam and Yunnan in recent times; affirmed the need to continue to strengthen visits at all levels; and promote cooperation in the fields of security - defense, people-to-people exchange, land border management and protection, and trade and economy. Yunnan pledged to continue providing more scholarships to Vietnam.
At the talks, the two sides introduced their potentials and strengths and made many specific cooperation proposals in areas of mutual interest and that can complement each other: Culture - tourism, investment - trade, education - training and people-to-people exchange.
On this occasion, Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang invited the Yunnan Foreign Affairs delegation to visit and work in Vietnam at an appropriate time.
This is the third time the two sides have implemented the exchange mechanism between local foreign affairs agencies, providing a forum for foreign affairs leaders of both sides to exchange experiences and discuss directions and measures to promote bilateral cooperation in the future.
