Promoting people-to-people exchange and cultural exchange between Vietnam and Brazil

On the afternoon of June 6, in Hanoi, the Board of Directors of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) received and worked with Brazilian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs in charge of Asia-Pacific Eduardo Paes Saboia and Brazilian Ambassador to Vietnam Marco Farani.

Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga, President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, shared the Vietnamese people's love for the country and people of Brazil; highly appreciated Brazil's economic development achievements in recent years.

Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga said that Vietnam and Brazil are currently each other's largest trading partners in Southeast Asia and South America, with trade turnover in 2022 reaching a record of about 6.78 billion USD, up 6.6% compared to 2021.

Introducing some basic information about the Vietnam-Brazil Friendship Union and the Vietnam-Brazil Friendship and Cooperation Association, Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga recalled some outstanding friendship and cooperation activities between the two countries in recent years; expressing hope that in the coming time, Brazil will become a bridge between Vietnam and Latin American countries as well as the Southern Common Market ( MERCOSUR ).

Deputy Minister Eduardo Paes Saboia expressed his impression of Vietnam's achievements in economic development; he hoped that Brazil and Vietnam would pay more attention to promoting people-to-people exchanges , cultural, educational, artistic, sports and academic exchanges, thereby helping to enhance mutual understanding between the people of the two countries, especially the young generation.

Vietnam and Brazil will have many practical activities to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries (May 8, 1989 - May 8, 2024)./.
