Breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation; development of digital economy, green economy, circular economy; research, development of incentive mechanisms and policies are the contents that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that Lam Dong needs to implement in the coming time at the working session with leaders of Lam Dong province.
On the afternoon of August 25, in Da Lat City, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and the Central Working Delegation had a working session with Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee to evaluate the results of implementing socio-economic development tasks in 2023, the first months of 2024 and directions and tasks until 2025.
According to Lam Dong Provincial Party Committee, in 2023, the province will have 14/18 socio-economic targets achieved and exceeded the Provincial Party Committee Resolution in 2023, the economy will maintain a growth rate of 5.63%; total state budget revenue will reach 13,100 billion VND.
In the first 7 months of 2024, Lam Dong's economy increased by 2.97%, state budget revenue by August 19 reached 8,293 billion VND, equal to 58.61% of the local estimate. The tourism industry continued to maintain a good growth rate, with 6.8 million tourists, up 12.8% over the same period; of which international visitors reached 396,000, up 39.9%...
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh acknowledged and commended the efforts and struggles of the Party Committee, government, army and people of Lam Dong province, contributing to the overall development of the country. In particular, tourism continues to play a driving role. Lam Dong province is at the forefront of developing high-tech agriculture with over 66,000 hectares, income per unit area reaching 245 million VND/ha; 109/111 communes have met new rural standards...
However, Lam Dong has been facing many difficulties, with drought and lack of water at the beginning of the year, followed by floods and landslides. Recently, there was a situation where vaccines were not guaranteed, causing dairy cows to die; some leaders and party members were disciplined, leading to a shortage of some leadership positions.
In the coming time, the Prime Minister requested Lam Dong to make three breakthroughs including breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation, startups, and application of achievements of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, especially in the fields of agriculture and services.
Breakthroughs in the development of digital economy, green economy, circular economy, knowledge economy, sharing economy, night economy, combating climate change, developing cultural and entertainment industries.
Breakthrough research, build mechanisms and preferential policies to mobilize all social resources, resources from people and businesses to promote rapid and sustainable development, especially focusing on transport infrastructure, health, culture, society, and combating climate change.
In addition, the Prime Minister also requested Lam Dong province to continue improving the investment and business environment, focusing on reforming administrative procedures; restructuring agricultural development towards green, organic, and valuable; planning raw material areas, diversifying markets, supply chains, production, and business; developing forestry economy associated with forest protection, selling carbon credits, increasing revenue from forests, and bringing benefits to people when planting forests so that people can rest assured to protect forests.
Also at the meeting, the Prime Minister requested ministries and branches to support Lam Dong in removing difficulties in the fields of transportation and minerals. Regarding the two expressway projects Tan Phu - Bao Loc, Bao Loc - Lien Khuong, the Prime Minister requested the Government Office to arrange for Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha to chair a meeting with ministries, branches and Lam Dong province to review and remove difficulties for the two expressway projects no later than September 15.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh also requested the leaders of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to study and remove difficulties in mineral planning, to solve difficulties not only for Lam Dong but also other localities, to minimize impacts on life and production, and to complete the removal of difficulties no later than September 2024.
