Prime Minister: Digital transformation to develop national brand, attract investment

(Dan Tri) - According to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, if digital transformation is done well, Vietnam's ranking in the world will increase, contributing to developing the national brand, promoting and attracting investment.
On the morning of October 12, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh (Chairman of the National Committee on Digital Transformation) chaired the program to celebrate the National Digital Transformation Day 2024. The program was connected online from the Government headquarters to the People's Committees of provinces and centrally-run cities. Informing that this is the third consecutive year that this event has been held, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that digital transformation is an inevitable trend, an objective requirement, a strategic choice, and a top priority for rapid and sustainable development. This contributes to realizing the aspiration of building a strong, prosperous country, with a prosperous and happy people, leaving no one behind in the new era - the era of national development, according to the head of the Government.

Analyzing some major features of the current international and regional context and situation, in addition to the issues of war and conflict, geopolitical tensions, and strategic competition, the Prime Minister pointed out a number of emerging trends that have impacts and influences on all countries and economies, such as the trend of digital transformation, green transformation, climate change response; connectivity between economies, especially infrastructure connectivity, transport connectivity, and digital connectivity. According to the Prime Minister, in order to combine the strength of the nation and the strength of the times, internal and external strengths, we cannot stand outside the general trend of the world. Reality shows that our country is on the right track with the focus on promoting digital transformation, green transformation, and infrastructure development. Digital transformation as we have been doing brings very clear benefits to the country and the people, according to the Prime Minister. Emphasizing the determination to pursue the digital transformation revolution in a profound, comprehensive, substantive and effective manner, the Prime Minister said that if digital transformation is done well, Vietnam's ranking in digital transformation in the world will be increased, contributing to building and developing the national brand, thereby promoting and attracting the best investment. "We are behind in digital transformation, so we must have the spirit of catching up, progressing together and surpassing", the Prime Minister said and pointed out three breakthroughs in digital transformation: digital institutions, digital infrastructure and digital people.

The head of the Government noted that this requires active participation, especially from leaders at all levels and sectors. In particular, to achieve the goal of digital transformation, the Prime Minister emphasized that there must be no shortage of electricity or telecommunications signals, especially in remote areas. He suggested focusing on fully, objectively and accurately assessing the results achieved in national digital transformation in 2024, especially in the digital economy. From there, propose strategic orientations, viewpoints, tasks and main solutions for digital transformation and digital economic development in the coming time. "How can we go a long way in a short time?", said the Prime Minister. Also at the program, leaders of the Government, ministries, sectors and organizations will dialogue and discuss with businesses and typical members of the Community Digital Technology Group.
