Thu Phuong's student "transformed" after 10 years: I don't compete with Hoa Minzy

(Dan Tri) - Returning to the music scene, singer Ruby attracted attention with a "transformation" in both her musical style and fashion sense.

After a long time of nurturing, singer Ruby officially launched a new music project, marking a turning point after 10 years since stepping out of the program The Voice - Voice of Vietnam 2015. Not only releasing a single MV, the female singer debuted with an EP called "Long Road to Know Good Horses" , consisting of 5 songs.

Ruby, real name Tran Thu Hoa, was known to the audience through The Voice 2015 and Perfect Transformation . However, she was quite quiet after that.

Talking about the time of "absence", Ruby shared: "I once forgot my dream and chose other directions. But after many experiences, I realized that, no matter what happens, you should never give up your passion."

Despite returning to the music industry, Ruby does not focus on competition but rather on developing her own style. She admits that she has been searching for answers for herself for many years.

The female singer has a close relationship with many artists in showbiz, especially Hoa Minzy. When asked about this friendship, Ruby said: "We are still normal, it's just that our schedules are busy so we contact each other less than before. I am proud of your success, with absolutely no intention of comparison or jealousy."

The singer also expressed: "I may start later than everyone else, but I am confident that I am not a rookie. I accept starting from zero to try harder, but still clearly understand who I am so as not to be compared."

Ruby is not jealous or competitive with her colleagues' success. "Seeing my friends shine, I feel proud and happy for them. I even brag that my friends are stars," she emphasized.

Regarding the decision to change her stage name, Ruby said: "Before, I didn't know what I wanted, and was still struggling to find a direction. Up to now, I believe that the music I pursue is suitable for a new stage name. After 9 years, my musical thinking has changed a lot."

Tran Thu Hoa was born in 1995 in Kon Tum and studied at the Military University of Culture and Arts. She made an impression in the Blind Audition round of The Voice 2015 when she performed the song "Nhung Loi Buon" (Duc Tri), winning over the four judges Dam Vinh Hung, My Tam, Tuan Hung and Thu Phuong.

After that, she chose to join Dam Vinh Hung's team and was expected by the male singer. However, for many reasons, she switched to Thu Phuong's team and did not go far in the competition.

In 2016, Ruby suddenly reappeared in the show Perfect Transformation with her transformation into Hari Won, impressing the judges Tran Thanh, Hari Won and Chi Tai.

Returning with the EP "Long Road to Know Good Horses" , Ruby hopes to create an emotional connection with the audience, while conveying a message of perseverance and endurance.

"I believe that only time and challenges can prove a person's true worth. I hope that when listening to this EP, the audience will have more contemplation about love and life," the singer shared.

Long way to know good horse is considered the "sweet fruit" after a long journey of exploring music of Ruby. For the female singer, these are not simply musical products but more than that, they are also a journey of emotions, of challenges and marking maturity in love and life.
