According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, early on January 11, cold air affected the Central Central provinces; the Gulf of Tonkin had strong northeast winds of level 7, gusting to level 9.
On land, cold air continues to strengthen and affect some places in the South Central region. Northeast wind inland is strong at level 3, coastal areas at level 3-4, with gusts of level 6 in some places.
From January 11-13, the North and Thanh Hoa-Nghe An region will experience severe cold, especially in the mountainous and midland regions of the North; the region from Ha Tinh to Quang Ngai will experience severe cold.
The lowest temperature in this cold air mass in the North and Thanh Hoa-Nghe An region is generally 9-12 degrees Celsius, in the mountainous areas of the North 6-9 degrees Celsius, in the high mountainous areas below 3 degrees Celsius; in the Ha Tinh-Quang Binh region it is generally 13-16 degrees Celsius; in the area from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai 15-18 degrees Celsius.

From Da Nang to Binh Thuan

Weather at sea
At sea, in the Gulf of Tonkin, the Northeast wind is strong at level 6, gusting to level 7-8, with rough seas and waves 2-4m high. The sea from Quang Tri to Binh Dinh has strong Northeast wind at level 6-7, gusting to level 8-9, with rough seas and waves 3-5.5m high.
In the North and Central East Sea (including Hoang Sa sea area), the sea area west of the South East Sea (including the sea area west of Truong Sa), the sea area from Phu Yen to Binh Thuan has strong Northeast wind level 7, gusting to level 8-9, rough sea, waves 4-6m high.
The sea area from Ba Ria-Vung Tau to Ca Mau has strong northeast wind level 6, sometimes level 7, gusting to level 8-9, rough sea, waves 3-5m high.
Due to the influence of the cold air strengthening, the area from Ha Tinh to Binh Dinh will have scattered showers, locally heavy rain and thunderstorms. There is a possibility of frost, ice and frost in the highlands; in thunderstorms there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.
Thunderstorms accompanied by tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind can affect agricultural production, cause trees to fall, damage houses, traffic works and infrastructure.
Localized heavy rains can cause flooding in low-lying areas; flash floods in small rivers and streams, and landslides on steep slopes.
Strong winds and large waves at sea are likely to affect shipping and other activities. Severe cold, frost, ice and frost are likely to affect crops and livestock.
