Information about the old railway station planning area

The People's Committee of Lien Chieu District has just responded to the handling of voters' opinions and recommendations by the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city related to the planning area of ​​the old railway station.

According to the People's Committee of Lien Chieu District, the railway station project was approved by the People's Committee of Da Nang City in Decision No. 5071/QD-UBND dated July 1, 2004; Decision No. 2739/QD-UBND dated April 23, 2013 and Decision No. 4472/QD-UBND dated July 7, 2014. On November 17, 2022, the People's Committee of the city issued Decision No. 296/QD-UBND to abolish the decisions of the Chairman of the People's Committee of the city on the boundary diagram and planning of the railway station in the wards of Hoa Minh, Hoa Khanh Nam, Hoa Khanh Bac (Lien Chieu District). Therefore, the location of the railway station project here is in an area without a detailed planning project.

Regarding zoning planning, according to Decision No. 1207/QD-UBND dated May 18, 2024 on approving the zoning planning project of Da Nang Bay, the old railway station project area is planned for technical infrastructure land, traffic land, green land, service land, educational construction land, mixed residential and service land, and residential land.

According to the Green Core Center zoning plan (under implementation), the old railway station project area is updated with service land, traffic land, technical infrastructure land, housing land, and green land. Regarding the general planning, according to Decision No. 359/QD-TTg dated March 15, 2021 of the Prime Minister on approving the adjustment of the general planning of Da Nang city to 2030, with a vision to 2045, the railway station project location is planned as mixed-use land and high school land.

According to the Railway Network Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, Da Nang plans to relocate the railway station out of the center to the west of the current station. At the same time, the existing railway line will be renovated parallel to the east of the expressway, in the same corridor as the high-speed railway. The relocation will help Da Nang have more land for urban reconstruction and socio-economic development.

The project to relocate Da Nang railway station and related works out of the city center is one of the important projects for infrastructure development of the city. While waiting for the Government to deploy investment in the railway system according to the plan, the City People's Committee proactively researched and prepared a plan to relocate the railway station out of the center. The relocation project is divided into 2 phases: Phase 1 aims to relocate Da Nang station to a new location, serving the urban redevelopment of the inner city area. In phase 2, the station and railway lines in Da Nang city area will be relocated according to the plan, in which the highlight is the construction of a new passenger station in Hoa Son commune, Hoa Vang district, synchronized with the North-South high-speed railway project.
